I was out and about the other day when I bumped into a mother and daughter I know. The mother commented on how she could tell I was losing weight,
and this was quickly followed by the usual first question of how I was doing it. I told her that I've cut out all sugar and processed foods, and have been eating fish, meat, fresh fruits and veggies, nuts, seeds, and home-made kefir.
She turned to her daughter and said, "See? That's
how to lose weight sensibly. I wish you'd do something like that instead of that awful Atkins diet."
I could hardly keep my face straight! I really wanted to tell her, but just didn't have the time to get into a long conservation. I'll see her again at the local farmers' market on Saturday. Maybe I should take along my copy of the book for her to read....
