Default Kernel Seasons Popcorn Seasoning

Have you guys tried this stuff?

I have used it on my popcorn before, but today I thought about putting it in my salad, and wow. You wouldn't believe how well it tasted. I'm gonna be using this stuff with only a very little dressing from now on.

I used the Ranch, but there are several flavors.

There are only 2 calories per serving!

I never have... how's the sodium though? I bloat incredibly easy and I worry about sodium in stuff like that.

*side note* I actually stalled my weight loss for about two weeks by putting sour cream and onion popcorn seasoning (made by Epicure) on my popcorn due to all the added sodium!!!

I think it's about 75mg per capful and based on a 2000 calorie per day diet I believe that said it was about 2 or 3 percent of your daily sodium allotment. I ate a whole bag of smart pop microwave popcorn with this stuff on it tonight (white chedder) so I'll let you know tomorrow if it affects me on the scale.

I must admit though that I am a salt-a-holic and crave the stuff like nobody's business. I have been stuck in my weight loss progress for the last 2 weeks and I know my sodium intake has been higher than usual SOOOOO perhaps if I could just try to kick the stuff a bit more than normal I could see the scales drop a bit more. Dang. One more thing I have to give up. Good tip mama!!

Does sodium stall your true weight loss? Or just make you hold onto water weight? Theoretically you should still go down on the scales if you're losing fat (and still bloated as all get out because you're very addicted to salt like me haha)?

You won't go down on scales if you intake too much sodium--that is for certain. Sure, you may be losing fat but who would know when you are puffy all the time. LOL

I went to eat Fondue recently. The morning after I went up THREE pounds from one modest meal of fondue--no cheese either--just meat and fish.

I TOTALLY do stall with too much sodium... When I had my period a couple of months ago I made stirfry with tons of soy sauce three days in a row... when on my fourth day my water period weight would have whooshed off... it didn't! I held steady at like 312 for a week or something. Then all of a sudden BAM 5 lbs down over night. I had QUIT the soy sauce. UPPED my water and it FINALLY all came off.

I have a major salt addiction.I put it on everything. When I eat out with friends they automatically pick up salt shaker and set it next to me.I have rarely tried to decrease my intake. The one time I did I lost 7 lbs in a week.Crazy!!So far my blood pressure is not a problem but I also realize that will change as I age.I have a family history of hypertension also.I was cleaning out my closet one day and decided to go through every purse I owned.....salt packets in every one I own.LOL.

I'll have to look into the popcorn seasoning. I have been looking for new ways to flavor my food without just using salt.

Speaking of sodium... what is the recommended sodium limit? I know I need to watch this...

Recommended daily allowance for sodium is 2300 mg. It's really hard for me to stay below that.

Oh the beloved salt! I have gained 5 lbs in one day from it. Do you guys think that drinking lots of water really truely helps get rid of water weight?
