Surgery ?

It has been a while since I last posted on here. I always miss the support you can find here. I have a question for anyone who has had a tummy tuck. I have now lost 125lbs through diet and exercise and it has taken me since Nov. 06 to do it. I am really trying to have the surgery this spring. I teach and was wondering if taking two weeks off of work will be enough. It looks like I will take 2 weeks off, work a week, and then have a week off at Spring Break. I am nervous about surgery, but honestly I can hardly sleep at night because I am dreamning about having it done. I have never been small and once all this belly flab is gone, I should be in a size 8 or 10. RIght now I am a 10/12. I have an awful "muffin top" in pants. It drives me crazy. I am an aerobics instructor now too, and obviously I will have to take more time off than two weeks. How long was it before you felt like you could get back to your workouts? ANy advice from someone who has had the surgery would be great. Looks like it will cost me around $6,000, does that souns about right?http://c2.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/i...f0b3956e72a6b1

Congratulations on your life transforming weight loss!!

I can't answer your question, because I haven't had any surgery. But we do have a special forum for Body Issues and I know for sure surgery has been discussed there. I think your question would get more responses if placed there.

You can also search there for some answers. Best of luck to you.

I can't offer any advice on surgery, haven't had one myself but did want to say !!!CONGRATS!!! on the 125 lbs weight loss and lifestyle change! AEROBICS instructor?? Hello?? I want to be you! I can't even go around the block without wishing gasping for breath.

I love it when people that have been successful come back here and give the rest of us a glimpse of hope and inspiration. Please post more often!

Good luck with the surgery!

I've never had surgery myself but I believe plastic surgeon consults are generally free? I would recommend talking to one of them for the best idea of cost and time off.

Look around at obesityhelp.com or makemeheal.com.
