Wink New cereal goodness

I'm forever on the search for the perfect breakfast cereal (besides oatmeal.) I've tried about 10 different ones in the past three months. Found some great tasting ones (with no protein) some great sounding ones (protein but tasted like crap *coughkashigoleancough*) but today. Today I found manna from the heavens.

Nature's Path Organic Optimum slim. 9 GRAMS OF PROTEIN, lots of fiber, and tastes... freaking awesome. 210 calorie for a cup, add some milk and a banana and I'm good to go.

So go. Try it. It will change your life (okay... well maybe not but it will make your tummy happy!)

I might have to give that a try. Thanks!

BTW, I love your tattoo. My mom has one very similar on her calf.

I personally love Kashi Go lean crunch, but I like Nature's Path Organic Power and their Slim.

I just can't find ones with less sugar. Kashi GoLean and all granolas are too sweet to me, and this doesn't look any lower in sugar. I'm gonna have to break down and try making my own granola one of these days. But I would like an option for a higher protein crunchy cereal, with less sugar

ok, here's the original recipe:

Jaxine's Granola

2/3 c water
2/3 c honey (i substitute agave nectar - a little less maybe 1/2 c)
2/3 c oil (i use less - maybe 1/4 c)
2/3 c brown sugar (i substitute splenda brown sugar)
2 t. maple flavoring
2 c sesame seeds
1 c each: coconut/raisins/sunflower seeds
2 c wheat germ
6 c oatmeal

Mix together all ingredients. Spread on two 9x13 baking sheets. Bake at 250 degrees for one hour, stirring every 15 minutes.

As you can see, some substitutions are necessary to make it healthier, but it's very tasty either way!

I'm going to have to look into that one because pretty much everything Kashi makes tastes like nastiness in a box to me. I got one of their cookies free by filling out a form on their website because I was determined to give them another try. How someone makes a COOKIE taste that bad I'll never know. I've tried half a dozen of their products and the cookie was the final straw.

If you like Kashi that's awesome because the stats on their food are pretty good - they are just not for the RG.

Of course I'm one to talk - one of my favorite Bible Study snacks used to be fudge brownies dipped in Ranch dressing and I'd bet that's not so popular with most folks...but it's sooooo good.

I can't GET Kashi go lean crunch at my supermarket I'd love to try it. Just the regular go lean tastes much nastiness to ME though. I don't have any added sugar in anything else and it's really my only processed food that I eat so I'm not worried too much about it.

That granola recipe sounds awesome! I need to try it!!!

Brownies in ranch. Erg. lol!

We are all different. I LOVE KAshi Go LEan. The plain one. No crunch needed. Love it. Love it. Love it. So much in fact, I had to stop buyinig it. I was overeating it. And I am not alone, we had a whole thread on just how great it is a while back.

I have BIG issues with cereal. The only one I can do moderately at this point is Fiber One Cereal. I've no doubt the cereal you're speaking about is excellent, but it's not for me. I like to keep my breakfast at no more then 200 calories. And besides, sounds like I'd have a hard time keeping my hands out of the box.
