I'm glad to see you back. I'm sorry about the diagnosis though. This board is a great place to get support. I know there are lots of people dealing with diabetes either themselves or a loved one. Focus on taking care of yourself, it's so important!

Mug - I'm glad to see you back, but sorry to hear of your diagnosis. Still, you CAN get it under control with effort...and this may be the kick you needed to put that effort forward.

You may want to check out the Dieting with Diabetes section, since you're new to this.

Stick around and keep going. You can do this!

I'm glad to see you again, too. I wish you the best with getting the diabetes under control.

Mug - we've danced around this site together before. Sorry to hear the news.

DH lost 110 lbs when he was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes - he was able to avoid all medications, and, when he was done and started going out, he got me! So, he's managed to maintain weight and non-medication status for 22 years. It can be done, and I know you can too.

Welcome back! I am doing this for health reasons too. I really want to help my asthma, if not get rid of it completely. Looking forward to seeing you around the boards!

Hey Mug. Glad to see you around. Sorry to hear of the diagnosis. But you most definitely CAN turn this around. This is a controllable disease, that you can CONTROL. This is it. The time is now. Go for it. Give it your absolute all. Pull out all the stops. Reverse that diagnosis. Ya hear?

You can do this!!! My son is diabetic and has lost 200 pounds by diet and exercise. His doctor has taken him off his diabetes meds.
