Default Need some feedbacks

Hello all....Happy New year!!

I weigh 360 and want to eat healthy and exercise and loose my first 100 Lbs this year. I live in a boarding home due from an illness and it is tough on choosing fat free foods.

I am planning on giving up on sweets and start a fitness regimen on dancing daily and using a jump rope. Is it doable in shedding 100 Lbs in Dec 09?

Thank you for your feedbacks.. Best of good health in 2009!

Liliann

100 pounds in a year is doable - I did it with counting calories and walking. Giving up on sweets is a good starting place - but may I suggest instead of concentrating on what to give up maybe thinking about getting 5 servings of veggies in a day and whole grains instead of processed flour (just as an example). And as for exercise - maybe committing to 4 days a week instead of every day to start with...then if you pull off daily you are ahead of the game.

Good to see you back, Liliann!!!

Hi Liliann,

Sounds like you are making a good start. While 100 is doable, don't set yourself up for disappointment. I agree with michellnew that any loss is very good. A goal of one to two pounds a week is very doable. That would give you a weight loss of 52 to 104 in 2009.

You don't have to eat fat free foods to lose weight. Your body actually needs some fat. I have found that concentrating on doing the good things instead of focusing on what I can't have, really helps me. When I make sure that I get the vegetables and water that I need weight loss is much easier. I have slowly been adding exercise because I was so heavy that I had trouble exercising at first.

You can do this!

Are you kidding??!!!! That is an AMAZING weight loss!!! You should be proud of yourself! I am. I wish I had lost even half that weight in 2008! Please do not think that you didn't do well by losing 70 pounds. You should be gleeming with pride!

I think 70 pounds in a year is fabulous!

I also think that you, Liliana, can lose 100 pounds in a year if you set your sights on your goal and don't give up!

Giving up sugar is a great place to start and keep in mind that you will need to make regular changes to get that weight off!

Best of luck to you and keep us posted on your progress!

I think it's very doable, but I also want to caution you not to get caught up in the idea that you HAVE to lose 100 lbs. Remember that anything you lose is a fantastic bit of progress. If you make it to 100 lbs by next December, yay. And if you don't, yay anyway!

Keep reading, checking in, posting ... this is a great group for support and information.

This post is encouraging to me because I would like to lose 100 pounds this year. No matter what I lose I'll be happy.

Good luck ladies on your new life change journey.

Very doable.

I'd also focus on good carbs (whole grains) and getting enough protein.

It sounds like you are motivated! Keep it up!!!

Yes. Losing 100 lbs in a year is doable. I lost 100 lbs plus.

But I'm in total agreement with the others. So what if you were to lose *a mere* 70lbs? That would be awesome. And then 70 lbs the next year? Pretty awesome too.

Remember that the choice IS yours. Every day you exercise and eat better, say NO to those sweets and fat laden, high calorie foods and YES to those veggies/low fat proteins & minimal healthy fats, it will be a day spent getting closer to your dreams. Your very DOABLE dreams. Losing weight is a doable thing and there is no reason on this earth why you can't do it. None. A day will never be anything more then what you make of it. Time goes sooo quickly. Before you know it one month will pass and then another and then another. That year will pass before you know it. Just think what unbelievable progress you can make!!!!

Everyone has said it! You can do it! You have to want it. The choice is yours. I've lost 80 pounds since August and can't wait to hit the 100+ pound mark, but I'm thrilled with every pound I lose and everyday that I choose to life a healthy lifestyle for myself!
