mine are either the Poconos or Niagra Falls. I would have voted for Niagra if I knew you could only vote for one!! LMAO, hubby has never been.

actually, i voted for baltimore, just because i could vote for only one. but NYC, the poconos, myrtle beach, are all fine. maybe i could be coaxed up to niagara falls...
wherever we end up, it should probably be a place with both train and plane service, and that narrows it down a bit. the poconos are a bit hard to reach without a car, for example.
good point jiff also remember that it is cld in jan in niagra falls (which is right next to buffalo which of you guys remember had about 60 inches of snow last january in ONE weekend!) I think i changed my mind!!!
I agree with the Jan. in Buffalo arguement. Although it is so close to me that I wish it would work. Ah, well, maybe we should wait till a more favorable time of the year. No matter where it is held, we who will drive will have to contend with weather.

if we choose niagara falls you should stay on the canadian side as the view of the falls is better.
i know it is a long ways off but next spring or summer would be better if people couldn't make it for this fall or even early winter. i don't think we had any snow up here in november last year.
Wether we fly, drive or take a train..snow will effect it. And planning something in the North East in the middle of winer is playing with fire. It wouldn't be wise. I would hate to plan something, only to have to cancel it because it decided to snow, or have only 1/2 the ppl show up because they couldn't travel.
I hate to push the date up till Spring of 2003. Seems so far away. But if we move it closer, $$$ and planning would be an issue.
So, do we take the chance and plan it in January?
Or do we move the month? Maybe March? Still could snow, but less of a chance. Or do we just go for it and plan it in January?
Honestly, I don't care all that much where. But...Niagra...I just couldn't do that without hubby. Just wouldn't be fair. And I don't plan on bring him or Jacob. That's family vacation time. This trip is just for me!!

Well, I was would really love to do something in the fall. Maybe a little trip, and whoever can make it makes it. Boston in September I hear is beautiful and I've never been there before. Would anyone be interested in meeting there for a weekend in September, towards the end of the month?
And in the mean time, we can plan something "bigger" for maybe the end of winter2003 or early Spring. This would give us time to save money and plan our trip. Maybe April of 2003? One of my rewards for reaching goal is going to be a trip to The Mall of America. I know that Sandi would like to go too. So, am going to start getting details of these two trips if anyone is interested.
I love to travel, and as long as $ and time off from work is okay, I will go anywhere. I have no husband or kids to worry about, so it's a little easier for me than the rest of you.
But my point is, if anyone wants to plan a "get together" in their area or somewhere they would like to go..start planning and let us know. Hopefully everyone in the group will be able to attend at least one. They could be for 2 people or 20 people. It's whoever can do it. Instead of trying to meet everyones needs, we can just do it this way.
Velvet...I know you'll be driving through New England in the fall. When exactly and would you have time to maybe meet and have lunch perhaps?
