I'm so sorry for your loss. I've lost friends to breast cancer as well, and it is indeed heart breaking. I recently made a wedding cake for the daughter of a friend that we lost to breast cancer twenty years ago. I was so sad that she couldn't be here to see her daughter get married.
I also hate going to the Dr. because of some really rude things that have been said by them and their staff. I went to a Dr. for help with my weight back when I was 25 years old and under 200 pounds. I had my thyroid checked and I did have a problem with it, but the Dr was so rude to me. She said "if you would just stop stuffing yourself you would lose weight". I didn't stuff myself then. The real eating issues came later. I was so angry and hurt that I've avoided Dr's ever since. I felt so helpless to change the situation then, I really didn't know what to do. It would have been so nice to get some real help with it. I wish we would have had the internet to go to then. I've gotten so much helpful information by researching on my own.
Thanks for the reminder to get check-ups, I'm another one that has been neglectful of them.

I'm really sorry for your losses. I know how heartbreaking it can be.

Some doctors baffel me. It is unbelievable what some doctors can say. It soounds so ignorent of them. I often wonder how they got through medical school without learning that it's not as simple as not stuffing your face.

I feel better talking to you all, thanks for listening

No, I'm ashamed to say I didn't tell the doctor. I was afraid he would say something else about my weight too. I find I am very bold in writing but gutless face to face.

Paula, I'm so sorry for the loss of your friend.

As I get older, I'm constantly reminded that there can be serious health consequences to being overweight for most of our lives. Kudos to all of us for making our health a priority and doing what we can to prevent future problems.

I know . I've been very lucky up until lately with joints, but now when I first wake up my hips and lower back don't feel the greatest.

My sister had breast cancer when she was in her late 30s, and now she has two beautiful baby girls. I still can't talk or think about it without almost crying. I'm so sorry for your sadness.
