Default AUGUST Points Challenge (This has nothing to do with WW)

Summer is almost gone! Are you achieving your goals you set for this year? How about a challenge to help us along!!! It's somewhere to check in...some friendly competition. Come join us for our monthly challenge!!

Since this is a monthly challenge, it will start on the 1st and the day of the month is the day of the challenge. You need to post your points on a daily basis (or whenever you can). Simply reply to this post and then edit that post as you add points (no columns please). That way you always know where you are and so do I! I will calculate and post the totals, on a weekly basis.

For those of you who have NO IDEA what I am talking about - here are the details. Sometimes we work our hardest when we are held accountable. So I challenge you to do your very best for the month and we'll see who wins!!

Here is how it's going to go. Starting August 1st 2008. We will try to do the 3 things that work. Food, water & exercise. You decide what your food plan is, how much water you want to drink and how much exercise you want to get every day. Every day you have the opportunity to earn 4 points.

2 point for sticking with your food plan (no splitting points here, you either stuck to your plan or you didn't)
1 point for drinking the amount of water you decided on
1 point for getting some exercise. (If you don't exercise on a given day - you DO NOT get a point for exercise - even if you planned it that way) Sorry, no 1/2 points.

Post here with how many points you've earned for a given day, and I will keep track. We'll see who's did the best for the month.

This is a very cool way to keep on track, because even if you don't do so great on food, you might still get in your water and exercise to earn the points!

Who's ready for a challenge???? It starts tomorrow!

I havent done as well as I wanted the last few points challenges... in May it was 2 week long business trips... in June it was my birthday.. and July it was 4 seperate urgant care/ER trips. All these things shouldnt affect my eating plan.... but they did. but! I still lost weight... just not as quickly...

So for August, each week I get 85% or better -- I will reward myself with something about $25 worth of new clothing.. or a manny. (saving up the money from each week)

Food: 1700 or less
Water: 2 litres
Exercise: 7x a week. either walking, pilates or very low tension elliptical.

Well I didn't do so good updating this thingy since I started this month. I am proud to say though I have lost 8 pounds.

I went on vacation. Just got back. I haven't weighed myself yet. But I was on a 5 day eating binge, so I'm sure I gained back what I lost.

8.25: Driving home from vacation. no exercise, hardly anything to drink (water-wise that is), and bad food once again. 0 points.

I'm so in! I really liked doing this for the last couple weeks of July... I'm glad that I can participate for the whole month of August.

Food: 1200-1600 cals/day

Exercise: [edited] at least 40 mins/day... Still want to try more things/begin strength training soon!

8/03 - 3 No exercise! I had/have a really bad earache and couldn't go swimming like I usually do. No excuses for tomorrow!

8/05!! (My 19th birthday ) - 1 point (for exercising). What a waste of a day! I would have allowed myself some cake OP, but I ate waaay too much other stuff. Ugh. NEVER AGAIN, and I mean that.

8/07 - 4 Yea! I finally got to change my ticker! I'm back on track...
8/08 - 4 OMG the scale said 244.6 today... I'm loving that I'm finally just slightly closer to 240 than I am to 250, hehe.

The food: Eat clean with a focus on protein, stay within calorie range 1500, track every single bite. No junk.
The water: A lot. I drink a lot of water now. The points challenge has done that for me.
The exercise: Every day, 45 minute minimum. Cycling and strength training. Rawr!

The day I've long awaited is almost here! August will be the month that I break into 'onederland' and ever closer to the 100 pound loss mark. I'm going to laugh, cry, dance and shop. It seemed so far away back in January, and now it's within my grasp!
