LOL I'll let you know when I find out! I started in a size 22 Lane Bryant jeans, and when I had lost about 35 lbs. I had to buy new ones in a size 16 (also LB). I have been wearing them ever since, even though I have lost another 25 lbs. They still fit fine. I think I'll be in these damn 16s forever, and I've got the 14s hanging in the closet all ready to go.

Waist sizes on clothes are determined by how many inches you are around the waist.

How tall are you, what brand is the pants, what's your waist and hip measurements, how tight or loose do you want your pants? All this determines size. The larger sizes have more pounds between them than the smaller sizes. So the answer is there isn't an answer because it depends on the person.

Yeah, i wish there was a clear cut answer to this one too, so we would know when we will be able to fit in a new size.
I started in a 16, and am now comfortable in a 14. I tried on some 12 jeans not too long ago, and still have quite a ways to go.

Meanwhile I'm 5'0" and just now into an 18. I started in a 22 and 45 pounds later I'm barely down 2 sizes. Just goes to show it's definitely individual!

It's so individual, your body shape, the pants, all of that make a huge difference. I don't know if you'll come up with a clear answer. I can't wait to get out of a 16! I am firmly in this size - I anticipate about 27 pounds gone before I see a 14. Hopefully less though! And really I am aiming for a size 15. Then it'll be allll normal sizes... I cannot wait

For me it's about 20 pounds between sizes. Which is pretty cool, but holy crap is it getting expensive. These days I'm buying the absolute minimum I need to get by, because I can only wear it for about six or eight weeks.

the most clear cut answer i can give you is working off belt sizes. for each notch on a standard retail purchased belt = 10lbs roughly. so if you go down 1 notch its about a 10lb loss. as for trouser size (pants are what you wear under trousers) so i'd assume that if you lost the weight evenly across your lower body (don't we all wish that would happen) it would be about the same. but as we know you lose it from certain places more than others so your trousers could be looser round your hips and thights but still snug on the waist are loose on the waist but still snug everywhere else.

Chunky, it's always amazing to me to see how sizes fit different people. Even folks the same height and weight can look totally different. I have a curvy or hourglass shape, which is a nice way of saying big butt, and have had babies, so the belly is saggy. Height, body shape, how toned your muscles are all plays a part - oh, and the brand of clothing. The jeans I'm referring to are from LB, but I do have some 16s work pants I got from JCPenney last fall that are falling off now. I probably could get down into those 14 jeans if I add some crunches. After reading this post yesterday, I went and tried them on again. They button and zip, but still a little snug and some muffin top going on. So I'm guessing another 5 lbs.maybe? I do exercise, but mostly cardio, I haven't gotten into the toning stuff much.

The higher I was (24W at the start), the longer between sizes - like 20 or more pounds. Then it was about 10 pounds between sizes when I was around 200.

At the weight I am now, it is around 5 pounds per size.

My 14s are loose, and I am wearing some size 12s. I am short, so the size changes are quicker with smaller losses now.

I wish I could predict pound/size differentials. I have 2 pairs of navy slacks--1 is falling off me and the other is a mite snug--the ones that are falling off-14: the too snug-16. Different brands of course--go figure.

sizes are sooooooo weird!! I'm almost 5'9 and i've lost 60 + pounds, but I've only gone from 24W/26W down to 22w, i have some 20s that are just too tight!

I found in my closet of old clothes a super cute khaki skirt I remember wearing and thinking i was a bit too heavy (OMG it was a size 14 !!!! ) THAT is my new motivation piece! luckily it's old enough to have become fashionable again LOL
