Default Skin and Weight Loss

I'm curious....when you start to lose weight when we have this much to go, does some of your skin snap back to place or are you just left with it hanging? Is there something you should do from the beginning to help it or is that something we have no control over?

Hi Wendy. Here is a link to a thread about the skin issue. I think you'll find it to be very helpful.http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/showthread.php?t=36040

Everyone is different. Some are lucky in that their skin snaps back and other's aren't. I would rather be a healthy person with sagging skin I can hide in cute clothes than be the morbidly obese person I am now.

Here's a link to the FAQ about sagging skin here at 3fc.

Definitely read that link. Unfortunately, the only thing that you have control over that would help with skin is to not gain any more weight and lose the weight when you can. Skin will snap back some, maybe a lot, depending on your age, genetics, your highest weight, how long you've been heavy, etc etc.

Smile Wow! Three and half hours later....

i read all of those links and Q&As and FAQs. It was well worth the time that I spent this afternoon.

Everytime I am on this website, I am enlightened even more. I would have never dreamed about this as being an "issue". I thought my biggest problem was eating too much and then losing it in the healthiest way and now this!! Yikes! It is mind-boggling.

However, I do want to thank again all of those women who have pioneered this and gone before, gathering all of that information and then sharing it with us. Mel, Chica and Meg, et al, you have been immense help in those of us who were in the dark about this most interesting topic.

I have always had the habit of taking any raises I earn from my job and putting that amount into my 401K besides a specific percentage. I think I learned that from some money program on PBS. Well, I am looking at my upcoming raise and 401K in a new light. I say boobs first!! I am always having to hold them (and my belly) in so I can see the number on the scales. I want a clear view to down below. That is my goal. After that, who knows???

I really enjoyed the articles too, thanks for posting them! I learned alot. This is just something I wanted to know about upfront because normally when I think of weight loss, I think you lose the weight and everything snaps back into place and no more worries. Now I know what to expect!
