You've gotten a lot of good advice here. Just wanted to combine two of the suggestions. Keep a food log for at least a week. See what happens to your weight. If you keep gaining and see a doctor about it, you'll have the documented facts of what you ate to help him/her assess the situation.
Also, make sure you're drinking plenty of water. If your body is trying to flush out sodium or anything else, it needs to water to do it.
Whatever you do, don't give up. You can figure this out and turn it around. Just the fact that you're asking questions here means you don't want to just give up.
