Welcome, Welcome, Welcome. I hope you develop your own exercise and eating plan that you can live with for the rest of your life. I know I personally like to learn all I can in books and articles and develop the plan that fits my style. Take care and good luck to you.

Welcome to 3FC!
What plan are you going to follow, have you decided yet?

Check out the thread entitled "Sweat until our clothes slide off" - exercisers check in there daily!

Hey Julybaby57, I just joined this site as well. I don't have any advice to you at this moment, I too am looking for ideas, advice, help or whatever I can get. I'm at a stopping point and looking for ways to be able to continue toward my goal as well. Wish you best of luck. Maybe we can stay in touch with eachother and walk through this together but if not good luck to you.

Start small. If you can get 5 or 10 minutes down at first, you can build up to those impressive amount of exercise.

Best of success to you!

Welcome to the 8th wonder of the world! :D My best advice - read as many threads as you can. You will not find better support then right here :carrot:

:welcome2: I'm a July baby, too....July 14th is my birthday.

Regarding the exercise, I started out with Leslie Sansone's 'Walk Away The Pounds" dvd's. These are easy to follow and can be done in a relatively small area in your home.

I love to compete, so that's helped me push myself to work out harder. I started out competing with my sister to see who could go more minutes. Yesterday, I was doing the elliptical next to a young, skinny thing. She had a higher rate of speed, but my resistance was way higher than hers. So, I pushed my resistance down to where I could compete with her rate of speed, and worked to keep myself above hers. It didn't really matter whether I beat her. It just helped me to be in that competitive frame of mind.

I also will not allow myself to listen to my MP3 player unless I'm either exercising or doing housework (which I need to be motivated for as well!). That way, when I'm looking forward to listening to the music, I often decide it's worth it to go exercise.

I'm one of those that really enjoys working out, though. Maybe you'll find that once you get into it, you become one of those as well!

And if you really don't like it, maybe you could break it down into three or four short sessions.

Good luck!
