Default Creative uses for those darn V'Day Chocolates

Okay, so by now you have probably received those darn heart shaped boxes of anxiety -- do you have a creative use for them (other than consumption ) -- can be realistic or not so useful -- be creative!!

I would like to donate mine to the masses of college students who are left out of this holiday or just feeling homesick.

I would be happy to stack a pile of mine, throw the truck in four wheel drive and back over them.

How about melting then down, making those cute little chocolate lollipops and selling them at a craft fair.

Any ideas???

Or decorate a cake using them and donating the cake to a school office or church function. I have never got chocolates on valentines day so I really wouldn't know what to really do with them. Just don't give them to your dog(s), it causes health problems (unless you're trying to get rid of your neighbors dog who keeps coming to use your yard as their toilet and eat your own dogs food, then I suppose it would be ok---can you tell what's going on in my "yard"?!)

Hmmm...Oh, I know. I say we throw them into the parents of the opposing basketball team - it will give them something to do beside scream at the games! (and, maybe they will hurt each other and not come to a couple of games... )

Can you do like the Hansel and Gretel thing -- take them hiking, leave a trail behind you to find your way out?.....

Actually, just a thought -- I think we should send them to the troops overseas -- I'm sure they would love the treat And, they are in much better shape than me anyway -- they could get away with a few chocolates!!!

In my house, instead of buying chocolates and giving them to each other, we buy them, pile them all up, and then take them to our local Women's and Children's shelter. My class did it back in elementary school, and my mom really loved the idea, so we've been doing it ever since.

We do the same at Christmas. Instead of buying each other big gifts, we get each other smaller, more meaningful things, and then use the rest of whatever we would have normally spent and buy toys and warm winter clothes and blankets and such and take it all down there.

You could open the box of chocolates and glue one on your calendar for each pound you have lost that week and put it on the fridge. Some chocolates are too pretty to eat anyway.

Lots of soldiers overseas are requesting chocolates, as well as other supplies and comfort items. If you're serious about doing this, you might want to go here:

http://www.anysoldier.com/index.cfm

You can find a unit that is requesting goods (and lots are requesting candy), put together an address, and ship it out.

And I don't have any creative ideas.

I love the idea of sending the candy to soldiers but I seem to remember somesort of rule about sending them...the weather makes them melt quickly or something like that. I would just caution you to really check it out before you do...!

I like the idea of the women's, family, children's shelter. Treats are fun

Give them to your favorite thin chocoholic.

Or how about a children's hospital

No matter where you donate them to - the benefits are HUGE!!!! First - they will certainly be appreciated; Second - you'll feel so good doing a good deed; and Third - you won't be eating them!!

Some great ideas. Luckily I told everyone this year that I wanted no candy. My boss did get me a small container of fudge (sugar-free) I ate the tiger piece and gave the kids the other two pieces.
