New from MN

I stumbled on to this forum while on a low carb forum. What a great place! To know that there are others out there with the same issues as me.

Just a quick background, don't want to bore you. I've been overweight since I had my babies. It's been a struggle. Almost 8 years ago, I had a grand mal seizure that really changed things for me. I had been having seizures since a car accident when I was 13. They were just undiagnosed. Seizures are completely under control now. Yeah!! I had been on Zoloft for years and when we realized I had seizures, I got to go off of it. I immediately starting losing weight and lost 70lbs. Two years ago, I started having a lot of pain from my endometriosis and I stopped exercising. Big mistake. I also started new meds for headaches and depression. Gained all the weight back PLUS more. I started exercising in December slowly. I went to my doc to discuss my back pain and he wasn't too happy with the weight gain. We talked about doing low carb and getting more exercise in. I hadn't realized just how big I was getting until we went to the movies a few weeks ago and I was stuffed into the seat. It was actually a slap in the face. So, I've increased my exercise and started taking out carbs and sugar. I just didn't realize how much the weight is affecting my health. I have enough issues as it is, I don't need to deal with diabetes. We are going to Yellowstone in June and I am going to be able to hike and have fun.

I look forward to getting to know everyone.

Missy:)

Hi Missy. Wow, you've had lots going on. I hope all your meds and everything is straightened out now.

Good for you for wanting to take charge of your life before things get out of hand. I wish you lots of luck as you embark on this journey to improve your health and your life. :)

Welcome, from a fellow Minnesotan. And - I used to live by
Yellowstone, too, so I love it there. So much to do, and it's much more enjoyable when you can move around and see some of the sites where you would need to hike. You will have a great time!

You are doing great! This is a wonderful group. You'll find lots of good advice, support and encouragement. I feel lost if I'm not able to check in everyday! We would love for you to join us whenever you can.
