Hi! I'm new and I want to introduce myself!

Hello everyone!
This looks like a great place to get the support that I am looking for in my weight loss journey. My name is Robyne and I am 3 weeks into my "diet/new way of eating". I've struggled my whole life with my weight, but the past 8 years have been really out of control. Once I broke thru that 200lb mark I just didn't seem able to get down again. After I quit smoking in 2002 the weight has just kept piling on. I have lost some, and then gained it back with a few extra pounds for good measure. So, how am I doing this? Well, I am going to count calories, religiously, using FitDay and I recently joined the gym and even bought myself 6 sessions with a trainer. Reasons I want to lose the weight: I am just so really tired of being fat. I don't want to be a fat mama to my son. I want to have more energy and be able to run around with him, and fit down that darn slide (which, no, I don't!). I am tired of shopping in plus sized stores. I want to fit in ALL of the office chairs without having to make those adjustments to the arms, meanwhile hoping no one will notice. Oh, and most recently I was in the ER with a kidney stone and the doctor said very matter of factly that an ultrasound usually would show a stone 90% of the time, but with my body mass the chances were under 50%. :o I was like "oh - yes, I see" Inside I was thinking "OMG I'm too fat for a freaking ultrasound!!!!" I had already started my diet and had lost 7 lbs by this point but I didn't bother sharing this with him. Anyway, I'm excited, I'm pumped, and I'm happy to find a community of like minded ladies (and gentlemen) who can relate to what I am going through.
Looking forward to getting to know you.
Cheers!

13 pounds! What an exciting, wonderful start! And Robynes here do incredibly well, so I would anticipate that you'll be just as successful as the other Robins have been. I look forward to hearing about your experiences and going through this journey with you. I know 3FC has made all the difference to me.

:D I am so glad that you joined us. That is great for making all those positive changes. Keep it up. Hopefully you'll have a good trainer that you can learn a lot from.

I started a program at the Y recently and it is tough--still in the beginning stages and getting those habits formed, really challenging. I am looking forward to succeeding with you!!!!:carrot:

Welcome! I think we can all relate. Your plan sounds great; I wish I'd gotten some sessions with a trainer when I first started but I figured I already knew everything. LOL.

Your name's not going to hurt either. Lots of us around here losing some serious weight. It's weird since I don't meet that many Robin/yn/yne's in real life but 3FC is chuck full of them.

Have fun and enjoy the process.
