A Silly Question.....

  • i've been on this web site for quite a while, and there's one thing i still haven't figured out....

Why the letter "D" in front of family members. For example, why is husband "DH" and daughter "DD"?
  • Good question! I also want to know the answer of it.
  • I have always heard that the D stands for "dear" or "darling", but if you're mad at the person, it can also stand for "darn" (or something else!). HTH!
  • Lots of other abbreviations appear also. SIL = sister in law, MIL = mother in law, DS = dear or darling son, SO = significant other, and so on.
