Aw Mug, I've been there too. It's only been in the last 2 sizes or so that I've stopped crying when I go clothes shopping. I used to sit in the dressing room (every time) and sob. I promise, it gets better... MUCH better. Keep on working hard and there will be a day when you, too, will smile as you're shopping for clothes.
I haven't had terrible luck with either and I am hoping that I am not wearing them too long. The price is definitely right!
Oh yeah, for transitional clothing it shouldn't be too bad, but I am very hard on my clothes! lol. LB was more of an "investment" ... I'm paying of my CC and hoping not to spend any money there again! I got 22/24 sizes, I'll maybe need to get a few more pants once I get down to a solid 22, and my sister is sending me a bunch of her 20's because she's losing weight too! Of course she has a bunch of LB stuff too (she got me going there in the first place). Hopefully by the time I'm an 18 I can just shop in a regular store. lol.
The crying in the dressing room really is terrible. I used to work at Addition Elle (correct spelling for whoever was asking) & I felt SOOO bad when I could tell someone was in there crying. I've done it too many times my self!
Yesterday I went shopping for workout clothes & left feeling very down. I've lost so much but not enough to be able to get decent looking workout clothes. Sigh!
I remember a shopping day I had that just left me in tears, many of those days unfortunately. Shopping can be so difficult. Even now, I feel limited with what I have available for me to buy. It's hard and I'm so sorry you had that painful experience.
Just remember this: You ARE strong, you CAN do this, and in time your shopping trips will only keep getting BETTER and BETTER!!! Hang in there and stay on your path, don't let anything deter you, and before you know it you will be looking for those 22/24 and then 14/16 !!!
Talking about crying in the dressing room. Well, the first time that I tried on clothing in a "regular" sized store - and they fit - I cried like a baby. I had to actually sit down, I was sobbing so hard.
So, believe me, it's possible to reverse the REASON why we cry in dressing rooms.

Have to stay I have been shopping more and more at the good will, salvation army and thrift store. People just like us, losing weight, getting rid of their clothes. Some very nice work type clothes and skirts and such. I found a real nice suit, skirt and jacket for church. I am not going to pay good money on something that will only fit a couple of months.

Some people would rather die than shop at those places. My daughter has become the good will queen. We went out clothes shopping a few years ago. She bought one outfit. Cost an arm and a leg, even at walmart. We stopped at the local good will. She bought tons of clothes, all very nice, for less than that one outfit cost at the store lol. She now goes to good will and those types of stores first lol. MOTHER I am not spending a ton of money when I can get it for cheap lol. In that one trip she got 12 pairs of jeans and 15 tops for the same price as that one outfit lol. The kid is learning.
Oh yes, Ive been there. There was a time when I had to buy a pair of size 26 jeans that I hated because they fit. Now thats sad!! Recently I went shopping and ended up crying because I got a 24 ,too big, 22, too big, came out with a 20!!
Yes, yes, you CAN and yes, yes, you WILL. Just hang on to the hope, hang on to the future. Remeber that you can have HAPPY tears. When I started my weight loss this tiime, I knew that the end of my misery was near as long as I stayed on plan, and it kept me going. And it gave me strength. And it gave me WILL POWER.
