Default What are you carrying around? A little game...

Last night I was lugging a 45 pound bucket of cat litter (4 kitties, lots of litter flying up here) up to my third floor apartment and it was SO heavy. I had to set it down a couple of times. At my door I sat down on it and it dawned on me... I am carrying around THREE of these things everywhere I go. It will be SUCH A RELIEF TO SET THESE DANG THINGS DOWN!!!!!

So, what are YOU carrying around with you every day that you are ready to set down?

I know the feeling! Last year, DH and I were stacking 40 pound bags of concrete mix in our garage. And it hit me that I was carrying around 3 of those.....

My daughter weighs just over 20 pounds. Everytime I pick her up, I think "this is what I've lost".

I think it's a good thing... that once you lose so much weight... find something that equals that weight and carry it around for a while. You'll know how far you've come. You don't realize it....

It's funny that you posted this today. Last night I was changing my cats' litter and I noticed it is 30 lbs. Exactly what I've lost. I can't imagine carrying that around all day.

Default Hi all, I'm new and jumping right in

What am I carrying around?
Well, pretty much I'm carrying around another me!!
I weight double what I really should. So you could say I have my evil twin on my back!

I got started three weeks ago at 313.2 lbs. As of today I'm at 295.2 lbs. That's a loss of 18 pounds.

I'm more than ready to put down some of this weight. It sure can make you tired carrying it around all day.

I, too, was just thinking of this yesterday. DD15 weighs 95 pounds, and so far I've lost 94. Every time I look at her I'm amazed that "she" is what I've lost. It's almost too much to wrap my brain around!

...hehehe, just had to add....when I'm done I'll have lost her AND her field hockey equipment!

Default I just did the math

When I figured up that I'm setting out to lose 163 lbs I realized that that's pretty much what my husband weighs! He's 6'2" and pretty thin. He's just starting to get a spare tire around the middle. It's only just a ten speed tire right now. It's nice though. He's actually up to normal sizes in the stores. No more trying to find boys sized waists in men sized lengths.

Now if I could turn my 163 lbs into another man....maybe one who likes to clean house..hmmm. <runs to phone>- "Hello Dr. Frankenstein. I've got and idea for you!

I like how you think!

I lost 50 and have 96 to go. That means I've lost one of my son's guitar amps, or one big sack of potatoes, or a bushel of carrots ... and I'm carrying almost two more of them around!

There was a thread one time linking to a website you could go to to find out what things weighed. I remember that I had lost an average fashion model and something strange like an elephants brain (?). Anyway, I'm still carrying around a 2 year old (one in the lower percentile range) that I'd like to ditch.

Wouldn't it be interesting if we could just feel all that weight leave us at once and get the real feeling of how much lighter we are now than when we started? Somtimes the gradual nature of things lets us forget.

I'm with you chicks that look at your kids when you think about what you've lost. I've lost about a Quentin (my 9 year old, who, by the way, I can't pick up without a lot of struggling) with a little over a Travis (my 5 year old) left to go!

And I'm down a Kamryn and almost a Quinn. Not combined, though.

I can no longer measure mine in kids, because my son is 6'7" and weighs almost 200 pounds. LOL

Guess I have a bag of sugar and four sticks of butter left to go. What I've lost is my petite friend, Jane. Man, she felt heavy when I was carrying her around my waist and under my chin for so many years!
