Default Hey! I LIKE THE GYM!!

I can't believe this. I went to the gym today, even though I HATE the gym because I am so intimidated by the perfect tiny little stay at home mom's in their cute little shorts and bra tops and blah blah blah. Well I went today at about 3 and no one was there but me and some 50-something executive type men who didn't care what I was doing. I hopped on the treadmill and cranked out 3 miles in 40 mins and even did a whole mile at an 8 incline! I was so proud of myself, I sweated buckets and felt terrific.

OH.. BTW this was in no way meant to be a disparaging remark about stay at home moms. I just feel intimidated by slim beautiful women who seem like they live at the gym!!

Congrats on doing 3 miles!!! and 1 at an 8 incline is AWESOME...i still havent tried the incline thing yet....im sorta scared i will fall off it ...

& I also feel the same way, I HATE going and seeing the tiny tiny women running around in their bras and short shorts...although i must admit, i wouldnt mind being a tiny woman running around in a bra and short shorts .....I also found a good time to go to the gym (around 10-11 am) im not sure why, but that seems to be the magic time at my gym where its only a few older men and women walking on the treadmill......the fewer people to see my belly jiggle when im attempting to work out- the better

If you seriously hate the crowds like I do, investigate if there are any 24 hour gyms near you. I have a keycard I swipe thru a card reader anytime day or night. 3am is a great time to go to the gym, especially if you have insomnia.

The skinny blond woman time at my gym is after 8:30 a.m. They drop blond child #1 at school and then put blond child #2 in the gym daycare while they workout. The women all seem nice enough but it's like they are breeding them somewhere.

Congratulations on enjoying yourself. It's really not so bad once you get the lay of the land and figure out how all the machines work. And you get to feel good about yourself.

Good for you!!

And wouldn't that be funny if some of those slim, beautiful women actually started out 100 lbs. heavier? Just think, next year you'll be one of them.

Wow! 8% incline is awesome. I can only keep it that high for a few minutes, then I'm back down to 5%. You're doing great!

I am soooo happy for you. You go girl!!!!!

And don't worry about anyone else judging you. Everyone's too into their own thing to care less what anyone else looks like.

Keep up the good work!

I look at the heavier women at the gym and wonder if I should say some words of encouragement. Obviously I know where they are coming from being over 250 lbs at one time myself. I probably would of liked a wtg from a thinner person. I can't believe I just called myself thinner.
