Trying to get Back On Track!!!

  • Well - summer is almost over.... and if i don't get back in control here, I'm going to put back all the weight (not that it was a lot) I lost in the spring. I've tried every Monday for the past 3 weeks, and I just can't seem to find the motivation.... so I'm going to try the "fake it till you can make it" route.

My commitment for the day is writing everything down today, and not stopping for a bad choice breakfast.
  • Welcome back, Beth! I wondered where you had gone to. This committment thing is tough, huh? I have to re-committ every single morning and usually several times a day. Faking it works... I've done that plenty, too! Hope today is a great on-plan day for you...you can do this!
  • I just returned from a summer break myself. Not a good break either. I did put all but 2 lbs. back that I lost last spring. We just gotta keep our heads up and remember that at least we came back to it! For too many years I didn't come back to it. Well we're here now and that shows how much we want to do this. Glad you're here.
  • Hey, I'm glad to see you back!!! I've always thought of the start of the new school year as a nice fresh start for EVERYTHING. Weightloss included. In fact that's when (and why) I began my journey on September 4th of last year.

One day at a time, one meal at a time. One HOUR at a time. Good luck!
  • Isn't summer wacky? May and June (okay, not technically summer, but they feel like it!) I wobbled about in an unplanned maintenance mode. Stopped planning, stopped counting, got a bit overconfident. Interesting sidebar: I also wasn't reading here!

Fake it til you make it is the way to go. Motivation comes and goes, but routines and concrete plans and a promise to yourself that you will never give up will always win the day. Welcome back. As long as you keep returning, keep refocusing, you can never, ever fail!
  • Thank you all for your words of encouragement!!

So far so good.... cereal for breakfast - and my food log completed.... now i just have to get through the next 7.5 hours before bed (hahaha)!!

    One step at a time
  • I'm right there with you Beth. Yesterday I got back on track after slipping off during the summer and gaining the few pounds I had lost plus 2 bonus pounds.
  • Amy - such a good point about not logging on..... and at a time when I really needed it!! I'm going to try so hard not to neglect the "chix"!

    Thanks for pointing that out
  • Welcome back.
