I just joined today. I wanted to join the 100 lbs. club b/c I am wanting to lose more than 100 lbs. I am 22 years old and am married to a wonderful man for almost 5 years, Yay! I have been struggling with my weight all of my life. At age 10, I became anorexic and was until I was almost 13 when I passed out at choir practice and had to go to the hospital. I was getting an ulcer from not eating. I then became bulimuc, b/c all of my friends would call my mom if I wouldn't eat at school. That continued for about5 months until I was sick of getting sick. I met my dh when I was 15 i became very comfortable with him. I gained weight . We were so inlove and actually (accidentally) got pg my Jr. year in High School. So there went some more of my weight. I didn't know how to take care of myself, and I was really eating for two, like two football players! I had Pre-eclampsia, gained 75 lbs. with my pg and was a total mess. I never lost any weight after having my beautiful daughter. I have had some definite hard times in my life. In April 2006, our beautiful daughter died in my husbands arms while we were sleeping less then 24 hours after leaving the hospital. She was only 3 years old. I miss her everyday. She was and is my life. I want more children and hopefully they will be like her. That is why I am so determined to lose weight. I want to better myself, love myself, and have some more kiddos! Thanks for listening. I can't wait to make some friends!
WELCOME aboard! And I know everybody reading your account is typing a welcome through their tears, because losing a child is just so overwhelming, we can't help but feel for your recent grief. You've had to grow up so fast, too! Congratulations for joining up, this is a great step towards a healthier life.
Well, one thing we all know about, is how hard it is to lose a large amount of weight in a healthy, balanced way. Most of all, you'll find great support for that, right here! We are all here for each other, and many of us have a wide range of experience.... Just keep posting, even on the bad days, it helps!

I'm glad you're here I too just joined and while i have never experienced anything close to losing a child I am currently getting a divorce after 17 years of marriage. Everyday has been a painful one for me lately so I am really looking at this site and weightloss as a positive step in my life. something to hope for!
Oh, Rachel! You've been through so much in such a short amount of time. Welcome to the group! There are some great ladies here and you will learn a lot and have lots of support.
I wish I could ease the pain you have had in your life, but I only know of One who can do that. I hope that you DO find the support and encouragement here that you need to succeed on your weight loss journey! So glad to have you!
Hi Rachel! Welcome to the group. I think you've found a great place to be. I'm so sorry to hear about your daughter. I can't even begin to imagine how hard it must be for you. At the same time, I think you deserve a BIG pat on the back for being pro-active and starting a healthy way of life.
Hi bigjewel! Welcome! I watched this group for a few days before I joined and I think its a great group people! You get a BIG pat on the back too! I wallowed in self-pity for 4 years after my 13 year relationship ended (we never married), leaving me a single mom of 2. Way to go, taking charge of your life and your health!
