FEBRUARY Points Challenge

  • February...How are you doing so far this year? Accomplishing your goals? Do you need some help? How about a challenge to help keep us on the straight and narrow for the next month? Let's start this year off right!! It's somewhere to check in...some freindly competition. Come join us for our monthly challenge!!

    Since this is a monthly challenge, it will start on the 1st and the day of the month is the day of the challenge. You need to post your points on a daily basis (or whenever you can). Simply reply to this post and then edit that post as you add points (no columns please). That way you always know where you are and so do I! I will calculate and post the totals, on a weekly basis.

    For those of you who have NO IDEA what I am talking about - here are the details. Sometimes we work our hardest when we are held accountable. So I challenge you to do your very best for the month and we'll see who wins!!

    Here is how it's going to go. Starting tomorrow, February 1, 2007. We will try to do the 3 things that work. Food, water & exercise. You decide what your food plan is, how much water you want to drink and how much exercise you want to get every day. Every day you have the opportunity to earn 4 points.

    2 point for sticking with your food plan (no splitting points here, you either stuck to your plan or you didn't)
    1 point for drinking the amount of water you decided on
    1 point for getting some exercise. (If you don't exercise on a given day - you DO NOT get a point for exercise - even if you planned it that way)

    Post here with how many points you've earned for a given day, and I will keep track. We'll see who's did the best for the month.

    This is a very cool way to keep on track, because even if you don't do so great on food, you might still get in your water and exercise to earn the points!

    Eating: I don't follow a specific way of eating. It's like a combination of everything I've learned over the years. It's similar to the Zone, Body For Life, SB style of eating. But I know when I'm OP and when I'm not.

    Water: My water goal is to drink at least 64 oz. per day.

    Exercise: Some type of structured exercise.

  • Hello all.....I'm back after a 5 month "slip" and regain all but 2.5 pounds that I lost...I have forgotten how to reset my weight...but it should read 272.5 rather than 257...:-( . Anyway...I never took 3FCs off "my Yahoo" and when I saw the reminder for the February points challenge I decided that I had to take it.

    I am not even sure exactly what I am going to follow this month...but holding myself accountable is part of the success I so need. DH and I are going on vacation the 3rd week of this month...and normally I'd just say..."I'll start again when we get back" but then I'd be saying "I've been away for 6 months....plus I have a trip in April that I could use as an excuse as well.

    Anyway...For this week...success in food will be writing everything down, not buying any more candy and following at a minimum 1 meal a day of my Medifast program. I'll update what my goals for the rest of the month (including vacation) are as this week progresses....

    Please keep your fingers crossed for me as I've "restarted" and thought about restarting at least a hundred times in the past 5 months...

    Oooh, my first weight loss challenge - hope I can stick to it!!

    Here are my goals:

    Exercise - walk to AND from work everyday (total 1 hour walking) and on weekends walk somewhere else for at least 1 hour
    Water - drink 2 litres of water per day
    Food - eat no more than 1600 calories which must be spread over at least 3 meals (no saving it all up for an unhealthy dinner!)

    Here goes...

    2/1 - 3 points (I only walked home from work so no exercise point today)
    2/2 - 4 points!
    2/3 - 4 points!
    2/4 - 3 points I really need to up my water intake - I got no way near today.)
    2/5 - 2 points An absolute shocker on the food front!

    I give myself a point if:
    I exercise for an hour each day (one day off a week)
    Drink 2 litres of water
    2 points if I Stick to my food plan (1850 6 days, 2500 1 day a week)

    Feb 1: 4 points! Off to a good start.
    Feb 2: 3 points.
