Default meat loaf

This time around I'm trying to have some normal foods... better portions and add more veggies to the dinner plate.

Tonight is meat loaf... homemade.. but I'm finding all kinds of different calorie counts out there. I want to have 1 slice...say 1 - 1.5" thick.

I used to have 1.5 - 2 slices with mashed potatoes and no veggies. Now it's 1 slice with lots of veggies.

Any idea on calories.. or where to find them?

Thanks,

Dana

Punch all the ingredients into Fitday and it will spit out the calorie info for you! I shred carrots and zuchini and mix them into the meatloaf too, adds more vegies and no one even realizes they are there!

You can try calorie-count.com. No need to be a member. Just click on recipes. Then when that comes up click on recipe analyzer. You can put in your ingredients and the amount of servings and it will give you all the nutritional values that you are looking for. This site is fantastic!!! I use it all the time.

I figured it out
I called the store and found out they make it with 85% ground beef...
then I found this: http://www.calorie-count.com/calorie...d=23571&size=2
choose the 1 lb loaf.... (my loaf is 2 lbs so I doubled it) then divided the total by 8 slices

185 calories per slice 8 grams of fat

It took me a while til I found calorie-count.com. Someone from 3fc actually told me about it. I find it much easier then fitday for recipes. It's a real cool thing. I love popping in the ingredients right down to the salt and pepper and it just shoots out the info. I was always approximating before that. Very cool indeed.

Enjoy your meatloaf.

I broke down and bought the mastercook software. I just punch in all my homerecipes in it and then divide the portions to get my calorie counts.

I saw a pretty cool thing at William-Sonoma. It was a scale that you could have recipes in it and if you put the item on the scale, it'd tell you exactly how many calories your exact portion happened to be. I thought about buying it but then I don't weigh my food now, am I really going to use it? Probably not.

Dana--I found mine for like six bucks with shipping. It's been a couple of years ago.

It's a great thing that recipe analyzer. I adore it. But I can't take credit for it, I got it from a fellow 3fcer. The only other website that I sometimes use is nutritiondata.com. It has some cool stuff on it as well. It rates food as to how healthy they are and other informative stuff. If I run across any other informative sites, I will surely let you all know. In fact, I did mention calorie-count.com to the 100lb. club come to think of it, but it was quite some time ago.
