It can be extremely tough to lose weight after pregnancy, especially when everything in life has been turned upside down and all of the sudden you don’t have a lot of time to focus on yourself. Without a lot of time to exercise, to cook healthy meals and to get enough sleep, losing weight might even be the last thing on your mind. The good news is that in just a few minutes each day, you can do some simple exercises that will help you to lose the baby weight once and for all–quicker than you might even have thought possible.
Take a Walk
Get out and enjoy the fresh air on a daily basis by taking the baby for a walk around the neighborhood. Walking is one of the best ways you can lose weight after pregnancy and it doesn’t have to take up a lot of your time. In fact, if you can squeeze in a quick 10 minute walk during lunch or a half an hour stroll after dinner, you are on the right track.
Play a Game
When you have a little free time, get out and play a game of softball or basketball with some friends. This is a great way to get some pent up energy and stress out, while also burning some extra calories at the same time. It’s also a great way to build muscle and skill.
Join a Class
Take some time for yourself and take a yoga or Pilates class once a week. This is a relaxing way to lose weight and can provide stress relief better than almost any other kind of exercise. It’s also a great way to ease back into a more rigorous exercise regimen if that’s your goal. Even a 20 minute class once a week will have you noticing results before you know it.
Play the Wii
The Wii is quickly becoming a popular way to lose weight after pregnancy because it’s easy to find the time to partake in the fun games the console has to offer. A quick game of bowling or tennis can be played while the baby takes a nap. Plus, it’s easy to squeeze in a little workout time throughout the day with one of the numerous exercise games available on the Wii, since you don’t have to leave the house or prepare for the fun in any particular way.
Dance the Day Away
If you spend a majority of your time taking care of the baby at home throughout the day, consider busting a few dance moves in the living room after you put your favorite tunes on after lunch. Or you can wait until your partner gets home and have him join in for a little party time dancing before dinner. This can help relieve stress, burn extra calories and put a little pep in your step when you need it the most.
