Fat Burning Training on a Budget

Fat burning training is on everyone’s to-do list, but one of the hold ups people have is the cost. A gym membership is expensive and so is equipment. However, there are ways to get in shape, burn fat and do it for little or no cost.

The body uses calories for fuel. We get those calories from the food we eat and the beverages we drink. To lose weight, we need to burn more calories than we take in. Cardio is a way to burn those calories and fat. There are many exercises that will get the heart pumping and burn that fat.


Walking is a basic exercise that has huge rewards. It is recommended that we all get in 10,000 steps daily. A pedometer is a great help in counting how many steps are taken. Anything over 10,000 steps is only a plus. There are numerous ways to get your steps in each day. Go for a walk on your lunch break. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Park farther away at a store. These little things will add up. To give yourself even more of a boost, walk at a brisk pace to get your heart rate up. Set a goal to walk for 30 minutes every day. Once that becomes easy for you, bump up the time you are walking a few minutes.


To do cycling, it will require the use of a bike. Bicycles can be bought just about anywhere and for a small fee. Cycling has both mental as well as physical benefits. Riding your bike will get you outdoors and will take you to places you would not otherwise see. One large benefit of biking is that you will strengthen your heart. This will make the heart stronger and improve blood flow throughout the body. The lungs will also be strengthened. Air flow in and out will be improved. Oxygen circulation throughout the body will be improved. These improvements alone will improve your endurance and your ability to ride for longer periods of time.

Cycling will also tone the muscles in your body. Going up steep hills or uneven terrain is great at working on the muscles. With your muscles being more toned, you will be building body strength and improving overall flexibility.

Lifting Weights

Muscle burns fat so to burn more fat for a longer period of time, you will need some muscle mass on your body. To improve your muscle tone, lift some weights. This can be anything from actual weights to household objects that you have in your home. Do bicep curls with cans from your pantry. You can also do bench presses with the weights at your local gym. All of these will improve your muscle mass and help to burn fat long after you have stopped working out for the session.

There are all sorts of ways to burn fat without breaking the bank. Cardio is key to getting the heart rate up and be sure to add some weight training in as well. Be creative and you will have the body you want in no time.
