When purchasing a multivitamin, you should always look for one that have a RDA (recommended daily allowance) of all the essential vitamins and minerals you need per day. These include:

  • Vitamins A, C, D, K
  • folic acid

  • iron
  • zinc

You should also check the RDA of the minerals calcium and magnesium. But be warned that you may have to take these separately to get the total amount of RDA you need per day. Why are these vitamins and minerals are so important, especially if you are exercising regularly?

Each vitamin and mineral is known to help the body it is own unique way. Vitamin A is needed to help build strong bones. Vitamin C helps to build a strong immune system. Vitamin D helps to protect our bones. Vitamin K helps our blood to lot. Folic acid helps to build red blood cells. Copper helps to absorb iron. Iron helps to deliver oxygen throughout our blood. Zinc helps our body to form blood and to heal. Calcium and magnesium are both needed to build strong bones.

Strong bones and a strong cell formation are vital to good health. It is also vital when exercising to prevent injury.

Added Vitamins You May Need While Working Out

Many people, who work out on a regular basis, well choose multivitamin supplements that offer a few other vitamins than just the main ones listed above. They prefer to take a multivitamin that is referred to as a high potency multivitamin. These types of multivitamins will contain:

  • a greater amount of iron (usually about 50% of one’s total RDA)
  • massive amounts of multivitamin B complex vitamins
  • Vitamin E
  • Selenium

The B complex vitamins are known as the energy vitamins. They work to give and help our bodies process energy, easily and quickly. Vitamin E helps keep the body from oxidizing Vitamin A, and it helps to keep the body’s tissues from breaking down. Selenium helps our body’s immune systems.

What About The Role of Beta Carotenes?

Beta Carotenes can be found in a number of fruits and vegetables, especially the orange and yellow ones such as:

  • carrots
  • sweet potatoes
  • pumpkins
  • peaches
  • apricots
  • cantaloupes

They help to protect our cells and reduce our risk of chronic diseases. Beta Carotene is also considered an antioxidant that can help fight infections. This is why it is beneficial to take while exercising (especially if one is not eating a well balanced diet).

Why Do Multivitamins Help Those Who Exercise?

Many health professionals will tell those who work out on a regular basis, especially those who do a lot of strenuous exercise such as marathon running, that they make sure to eat a well balanced diet and take a good multivitamin. Vitamins and minerals can be lost during the physical act of exercising, through the natural way our bodies perspire. By replacing these vitamins and minerals, our bodies can continue to have the energy to perform and complete our exercise routines!

I decided to move up from a simple multi-vitamin and decided to go with the best on the market, which is the Dr Max Powers “Anabolic Stack”. The more I research, the more I realize it is a good idea to suppliment the diet with a good multi.

Since I am the gym and working out quite a bit, I could justify stepping up to the Dr Max Anabolic Stack. I have been taking them for almost 3 weeks and seem to have additional energy. I have had no side effects at all and have gotten used to taking all the pills in the morning.

I recommend this product for those that are active and want to ensure they are meeting all their vitamin and mineral needs. If this doesn’t cover it.. nothing will!
