Meat, Poultry and Fish Diet Foods

There are many options for lean proteins that work well on a diet. Choose from chicken breasts, turkey breasts, lean ground turkey, lean ground beef, lean beef steaks and lean roast. There are many fish and seafood options as well, including tuna, salmon, crab, shrimp, halibut, scallops and orange roughy.

Dairy and Egg Diet Foods

Selecting low fat dairy products is the key to shopping the dairy section of your grocery store. Choose between 1% milk, skim milk, soy milk, light yogurt, low fat cheeses, low fat cottage cheese, light sour cream, eggs and egg substitutes. Also, check your dairy section for tofu, a healthy plant-based protein.

Fruit and Vegetable Diet Foods

Fruits and vegetables should fill a large portion of your grocery shopping trip. Pretty much anything you can find in the produce section of your grocery store is perfect for your diet food list. Choose fruits that are in season for the best tasting fruits. As far as vegetables, select a healthy mix of colors and textures. Be sure to include several leafy greens for the most nutritional value, as well as any of your other favorite vegetables.

Bread, Grain and Cereal Diet Foods

There are many ways to get some healthy carbohydrates and fiber diet foods. Look for whole grain bagels, corn flakes, cream of wheat, Malt-O-Meal, melba toast, oat bran, oatmeal, pita bread, puffed rice, rice cakes, corn tortillas and whole wheat bread. There are many healthy grains that are available in any bulk food section or sold packaged, including bulgur, couscous, quinoa, brown rice and wild rice.

Beverage Diet Foods

Reach for low calorie and low sugar drinks – bottled water, coffee, diet soda, diet drinks, herbal tea, tea and seltzer water all make great choices on a diet.

Condiment Diet Foods

Reach for low fat and reduced fat condiments when you are dieting. Some great choices for dressing, flavorings and seasonings on a diet include cinnamon, ketchup, horseradish, light or low fat mayonnaise, low fat or nonfat salad dressings, mustard, low sodium soy sauce, salsa, herbs, vanilla and vinegar.

Healthy oils for cooking include canola oil, corn oil, olive oil, sesame oil, soybean oil and sunflower oil. Other healthy fats for your grocery list include avocados and nuts (yum).

I have to say that i was very disappointed. There is nothing about amounts/serving sizes.

Also you keep saying shopping list but i do not see a shopping list and many of the shopping lists take you repeatedly to the same cancer shopping page. I am very interested in a diabetic shopping list.

Your site has a lot of great information. I wish the links went to where they say they do and I wish who ever posted the information for shopping list created a shopping list.

Thank to everyone who put so much time and effort forth.
