Whole Wheat Apple Bread

recipe ingredients
2 3/4 cup whole wheat flour
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup applesauce
1/4 cup corn syrup
1 1/2 cups sugar
4 egg whites
1/4 cup water plus 2 tablespoons water
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
3 cups apples, peeled, cored, chopped

recipe directions
In a large bowl, combine flour, cinnamon, baking soda, baking powder and salt. In a medium bowl, combine applesauce, corn syrup sugar, egg whites, vanilla and apples; stir into flour mixture. Divide mixture between two 8 x 4″ bread pans that have been sprayed with nonstick spray. Bake at 350 degrees F for 40 – 45 min or until bread tests done. Cool for 10 min on wire racks before removing from pans.

    Mix was very stiff and bland. Applesauce is usually added to baking products to replace liquid instead of sugar. Going to experiment with a glaze to place on top to counter act the dryness.
