Maple Apples

recipe ingredients
4 medium cooking apples, cored
1/4 cup raisins or dried cranberries
2 tablespoons chopped walnuts
3 tablespoons reduced calorie maple flavored syrup
1/2 cup water

recipe directions
Cut off a strip of peel near the top of each apple. Arrange apples in a 2-quart square baking dish. Fill apples with raisins or cranberries and walnuts. Brush apples with syrup. Add the water to the baking dish. Bake in a 350*F oven for 40 to 45 minutes or until apples are tender, basting occasionally with the cooking liquid. Serve warm.

    Maple Apples: I made these today. Divine! I might try it next time with a mix of cinnamon, nutmeg and all spice, to zest it up even more! Thanks for this easy, “fruit-ful” recipe!
