Lemony Rice Pilaf
recipe ingredients
1 1/2 cups water
4 green onions, sliced
1 tsp. instant chicken bouillon granules
1/2 tsp. shredded lemon peel
1 clove garlic, minced
1/8 tsp. pepper
1/2 cup long grain rice
1/2 cup coarsely chopped water chestnuts
1 cup frozen green beans or asparagus
recipe directions
Combine water, green onion, chicken bouillon granules, lemon peel, garlic and pepper in a medium saucepan. Bring to boiling. Stir n rice and water chestnuts and reduce heat. Cover and simmer for 20 to 25 minutes or till rice is tender and liquid is absorbed, stirring in the green beans or asparagus the last 10 minutes of cooking.
