recipe ingredients
1 clove garlic, peeled and chopped coarsely
1/2 tsp. salt
3 Tbsp. tomato juice
2 Tbsp. lemon juice
1 Tbsp. olive oil
1 1/2 tsp. dried oregano
1/4 tsp. fresh ground black pepper
1 medium head Romaine lettuce (6 cups)
1 cucumber, halved lengthwise and sliced
12 cherry tomatoes, quartered
1/2 red onion, sliced thin
8 black olives, such as Kalamata, sliced
1/4 cup crumbled feta cheese

recipe directions
Sprinkle garlic with salt and mash with the side of a knife blade. Place garlic in a small bowl; whisk in tomato juice, lemon juice, olive oil, oregano and pepper. Toss lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, and red onion with the dressing. Scatter olives and feta cheese over top.

    for those who dont like garlic or dont wont to have a smelly breath its better and still tasty without it!!

    It’s perhaps a good salad, but it isn’t greek, or, rather, it’s an americanized greek salad you’d be unlikely to be served in Greece. For a true greek salad, omit garlic, tomato juice, lemon juice, black pepper, Romaine lettuce, and replace the 12 cherry tomatoes with three regular tomatoes when in season. Pretty good this way too, though.
