recipe ingredients
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
Pinch of salt
3 large egg whites
1/8 teaspoon cream of tartar
2 tablespoon powdered sugar

recipe directions
Preheat oven to 300°F. Line 2 heavy large baking sheets with foil or parchment paper. Sift 1/4 cup sugar, cocoa and salt into small bowl. Beat egg whites and cream of tartar in large bowl until soft peaks begin to form. Add remaining 1/4 cup sugar 1/2 tablespoon at a time and beat until medium-firm peaks form. Add cocoa mixture 1 tablespoon at a time and beat until meringue is stiff and glossy.

Drop meringue onto prepared baking sheets by rounded teaspoonfuls, spacing 1 inch apart. For chewy soft cookies, bake meringues 25 minutes. For drier, crisper cookies, bake meringues 40 minutes. Cool cookies on baking sheets. Sift powdered sugar over cookies.

These cookies are great. Read the directions carefully as you must mix only half the sugar with all the cocoa and use the other half of the sugar seperately. I baked them for 25 minutes so they were chewy. I’m sending this recipe to all my WW friends and my skinny friends and relatives too!!

Fantastically nummy and easy to make! Do bake them longer, though, and a mixer is absolutely required!

I once tried something very similar to this on the WW recipies but it didn’t taste as good as these. These are easier to make and don’t take as long. I love them being soft and chewy. It reminds me as if I was eating chocolate pudding.

Wonderful cookies……I can’t believe how sweet these are! I doubled the size of the cookie(yield 20 not 40), which makes a nice size cookie. Thanks for the recipe ~ can’t wait to make them again!

My friends and I bring in WWatcher recipes every week and exchange. I always use this site for ideas. These cookies are great to curb your sweet cravings!!! Easy to make and LOW LOW in points. Fabulous

  • Kate

These cookies are super yummy for such low points. If you use foil, spray with non stick stuff because they stick! Other than that, these are terrific cookies for 0 points.

these were really yummy and super rich. i think i made them too big though because i didn’t have anywhere close to 40 cookies-not a problem though.

WOW! These are great cookies! Even if I eat the whole darn batch (looking guilty) the points are low! Can’t wait to share this recipe.

OMGoodness!!! What a wonderful treat when you need a bite of something sweet. And Chocolate at that….what more could you ask for? I will make these again and again, they should help with that sugar craving quite nicely.

  • Jessie

YUM! These cookies are great, especially if you spread a little cool whip on them and put them in the freezer. They’ll taste just like ice-cream sandwiches, and still have very low points!

They are truly great and just what I wanted to knock/ please that sweet/choc craving. I came out close to 20 too.

  • Natalie

    really yummy!

i just wish egg whites didn’t hate me.

but still delicious. i’ll have to watch a youtube video in real time next time. and i think the room temp eggs thing would help.

Just made this recipe tonight for the family and they loved them! The kids wanted more and I felt good about giving them more since they’re healthy. I ended up using regular cocoa powder since I didn’t have unsweetened. I reduced the amount of sugar and they turned out great. Great recipe. Definitely would love to find more great ideas like these for a healthy cheat.
