Angel Food Cake with Vanilla Custard Sauce

recipe ingredients
1 1/2 cups 2% low-fat milk
1/4 cup sugar
4 large egg yolks
1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
8 slices angel food cake, 2 oz. each

recipe directions
Place milk in a 1-quart glass measure. Microwave at HIGH 3 minutes. Combine sugar and egg yolks in a medium bowl; stir with a whisk. Gradually add hot milk to egg mixture, stirring constantly with a whisk. Return milk mixture to glass measure. Microwave at HIGH 2 1/2 minutes, stirring after 1 1/2 minutes. Stir in vanilla. Cover; cool to room temperature. Serve over angel food cake.

    I recently took this Vanilla Custard Sauce and Angel Food Cake to a 4th of July party. I added some fresh raspberries and blueberries. It was a hit! Almost everyone went back for seconds. A wonderful, delicious and easy to make sauce. It gives a lot of pizazz to a simple angel food dessert

    I once took it to my mother’s b-day party and one of my friends asked me to make it for their b-day it was totally a hit but you guys should try it first but it puts meaning into desert for diets
