I did great today. I only walked for about 15 min because I had so much to do on my breaks today, but I ate really well, got a lot of protein in, and plan to exercise a bit more tonight.

I went to the grocery store and stocked up on lean meats and low carb veges. Wow I ate good today and felt good! I prove it to myself each time that my body just doesn’t process the carbs and they make me sick. I’m proud of myself for eating right and getting about 15 min of exercise in (I plan on doing more before bed, stretches and crunches to help me relax). I don’t want to weight myself for awhile, would just like to see me back to 222 lb if I did go over. It’s all downhill from here!!
I just got down to 222 and what do I do? Eat like a pig on Sunday because everyone at work is bringing in food galore. Then yesterday and today I do the same like a darn fool! The groceries are getting low so I know what’s happening, I’m eating higer carbs, which are not filling me up and making my sugar go haywire, and causing me to eat even more!
My husband and I get paid this week so the plan is to get some good healthy groceries and get my butt back in gear!
Finally got past my never ending plateau, am now down to 222.5! It’s nice being on the low end of the 220’s. I’ve been switching things up a bit with exercising and in addition to walking have been doing the stretches and crunches. I must say, laying on the floor and pulling in my stomach is the nicest feeling! I feel the tautness of my belly as the fat slips to the side and I can almost imagine what it’s like to have a flat belly! I know that crunches can’t target the belly fat but strenthening those muscles is all to the good IMO!
I walked 34 min today and also did 3.5 min of the elliptical on my arms and then did 5 min of stretches for my belly and thighs and crunches for the belly. Gosh this weather is hot and sometimes its hard to excercise but I’m pushing myself!
I am now down to 224. I can’t wait to get out of the 220’s and into the teens! I did 8 min on the elliptical. Like I’ve said before I’m definetly not breaking any records on it, but I’m doing it and that’s what counts! The day is not over yet, so I’m hoping to do a few more minutes on it.
My DH decided (again) that he want to lose weight and has been drinking slimfast for the past couple of weeks and asked me to prepare food for both of us. I warned him that because of my blood sugar I’m doing a more low carb diet and he’s been cool with that. I think I even showed him that replacing some of our starchier foods with low carb sides likes steamed zucchini, cauliflower, broccoli, etc. is actually more filling than potatoes and pasta. I’m very proud of him, he’s been doing well, though I do have to tease him when I get up in the morning and see he’s snuck some extras. I let him know it’s OK to splurge once in awhile, I just keep reminding him that if he goes overboard he’s not doing himself any favors, let’s see if he listens!
UPDATE: I just did 3 more min on the elliptical. I did something a little different though, I stood in front of the elliptical and just just used my arms to pump the machine back and forth. Whew, I can feel it in my forearms, biceps, and shoulders! Hopefully this will firm my arms up a bit! I’m curious, has anyone else used their elliptical like this? If so, did you get any results?
2nd UPDATE: I just did a little over 5 min of stretching which felt great. I like to lay on my back and just let my legs fall to the sides to stretch the muscles in my inner thighs. I also did some ab work just tightening the muscles in those areas. I have jiggles in my belly and thighs so hopefully this helps.
I never really left, just haven’t posted in awhile. I’ve gained a few pounds and am bak to 226. I’m not crying over it. For some reason 226 is some “magic” number for me because I seem to keep coming back to it. I really need to switch things up or something because I’ve been on this awful plateau for over a month now. I still walk 1/2 hr each day. I still walk on the elliptial too though I will admit I could push myself more on it to do more. I’ve been watching the calories but I cannot tell a lie I’ve not been calculating my Fitday like I used to and that’s not good.
I guess at this point I feel like I’m still doing good but not great.
I will say I went swimming last night at my friends house and when I came home I slept like a baby. I Love to swim!!!! I’ve never been pushy and don’t invite myself over to people’s houses, but gosh I really want to invite myself over to her place again real soon!
UPDATE: Well I’m up to date on Fitday today and went for a 20 min walk at our local park! I’m so proud because they are the things I need to do to get beyond this plateau.
