Going to Lose: My Weightloss Journey!

Ok-no more excuses. time to get my act together. new mini goal set!

Posted by: travelgal In: General

So, I’ve been back at school a week, but this week was ABSOLUTELY NUTS CRAZY! the first week is always hard and i’ve been SO tired and have not gotten a  lot of sleep. all of that needs to change.

i also havent been paying attention to my food at all, which is SO bad.

so, i decided to set a new mini goal, because those have in the past, kept me quite on track.  so in 4 weeks, i am hoping to lose 6 lbs and be down to 179.  So, on OCTOBER 23rd, I plan on reaching 179 and finally getting out of the 180s.

Also, because I have been SO exhausted this week, I havent been going to the gym etc.  So aside for my weight loss mini goal, im also setting some other goals that I would like to acheive daily.

Daily Goals to Achieve:

1) Blog everyday

2) Track ALL food that I eat.  Estimate calories and be very honest.  Also, choose healthy foods at all meals and for all snacks.  Keep in mind that my food choices really do matter.  I definitely need to get back on the healthy food track ie stopping the chips and cheese, pretzels and cream cheese, nutella etc. God, i loveeee my house, but the kitchen is a death trap! Self control and perhaps a mantra needs to come into play.  Maybe “INO-It’s not an option”? anyone have self control tips, when you have a kitchen full of junk food in front of you?

3) Do some kind of physical activity every day.

4) Get at least 7 hours of sleep a night.

OK, im off to bed. I’m excited to get back into all of this tomorrow, and for the rest of the year. 40ish lbs down, 60ish to go.  i can do it!

Glad to be back!

xox chicks,

I sooooo know what you mean. I have four sons (although my 19 year old is off at school) and they LOVE their cookies, chips, and junk. So to give me some sanity among all of that junk food I buy low fat or lower sugar versions. (whole wheat pretzels, fat free pringles, sugar free cookies, and sugar free WW ice cream) This really helps me a lot when I see theirs and want some. Also My boys do NOT like diet food so I cook for them eat a little and supplement with a ton of raw fruits, veggies, salad or veggie burgers. I really hope that helps you.
I KNOW that you can back on track. You have been doing so wonderful and you WILL get there again. I believe in you. Take care and have a nice weekend.

Self control tactic: take a clothes-free torso shot of yourself in the mirror with your celly camera. Crop off your head, boobs and nothing below the hips, and have this photo of your belly on your phone. And every time you start to head to the kitchen, pull it up and take a look. If your stomach is anything like mine, you’ll be too queasy to eat! Of course, you are young and I am sure your stomach is nothing like mine. But you get the idea. If it’s not your stomach, then a thigh or some cellulite, whatever it is that really motivates you to want to GET RID of it.

I am happy that you are getting back into it! You could be tired because you haven’t been going to the gym. I know being active makes me feel less lethargic during the days.

My tactic: I have one cabinet in my house full of tempting dry goods (crackers, chips, cookies, cereal, chocolate). Side note/observation - all begin with “c” very strange. I know this probably sounds dumb, but I practiced opening the cabinet door, closing it and walking away a bunch of times in a row. It actually felt empowering, like a public service announcement of just saying NO or “being above the influence”. I visualize that little action and it reminds me of my own control.
