Hey Kids,

I had a super fab weekend, though the food wasnt entirely on track..such is life. I tried. Well, today has been exactly on plan except i have been deceived at starbucks. i was deciding between an iced latte and an iced coffee and i thought that surely an iced coffee with just a tad of milk and coffee would be less than an iced latte! its like a 20-40 calorie difference, so nothing crazy but i just didnt think coffee had so many calories. im confused i must say. also today was kind of a wasted day because the power went out at work so i couldnt do anything, so i left to go do errands etc, and now it came back on, so I think I’ll go back and work for a few hours.

So, food so far today:
Breakfast: 1 tofu dog and ketchup (60), ½ bottle of kombucha (35), ½ blueberry muffin (100), ¼ cup of cottage cheese (45) with ¼ cup of berries (15), ½ banana (55)-310

Lunch: 2 turkey burgers (200) and ketchup (30), carrots (40), small plum (30)- 300

Snack: 12 almonds (103) and iced coffee with nf milk (140) [update, i think this was less than 140 because i had it unsweetened, so I’m gonna call it 140 to be safe, but im pretty sure its much less since i said unsweetened and then just put a little bit of nf milk in), and 1 green apple (70) - 313

Dinner: a bit more than 1/2 cup of pasta (150), 2.5 turkey meatballs (125), 1/4 cup of sauce (25), parmesean (45), Some veggies with balsamic but not full salad (50)-395

Total: 1318–> a bit over but i overestimated a few things on purpose, and still not a bad number

Workout: I went back to work this afternoon once the power came back on and I stayed late to the point that the gym was basically closed when I got out.  I ended up going on a late night walk with a guy I know. It was about 1.5 hours, and somewhere between 4.5-5.5 miles, cuz I tried to map it, but I couldnt remember our whole route since we zigged and zagged around, but I’m definitely glad I walked and burnt off dinner.  not sure what the situation is with the guy, and dont want to think about it too much. i guess we’ll just see..

well hello chicks! it’s a new day, the weekend and I am in a stellar mood! i was whiny yesterday in my post, but uhh its my blog and i do what I want to? haha anyways. this is going to be a fab weekend and I’m doing a variety of fun (and food filled?) activities with friends so I really need to be careful.  yesterday I ate pretty well, except dinner with grilled cheese and fries (but kinda within my range) and the scale seemed to show me a lovely # this morning, so maybe it will stick! i also only had one drink at the bar last nigh with diet coke, and no peanuts, so it was an improvement from last time.  tonight I have to be really careful with food and drink and RIGHT NOW i am limiting myself to one drink, and then a normal food item.  if I can do that, i’ll be golden.

i need to pack up my apartment today, or some of it, and i need to be at my friends house by 6. not sure if i’m going to make it to the gym or not.  I kind of want to, but i also kind of want to just skip it. but i know i wont go tomorrow (even though we’ll be doing some walking), so i’ve got to see how my afternoon goes.
it’s already 1 and if i go to the gym i have to go by 4. but maybe i’ll pack for 3 hours and then i’ll want  agym break at 4. hmm maybe that sounds like a good plan. let’s see if i can follow through.

food so far today:

Brunch: 2 tofu dogs (90), scrambled with egg whites (125) and cheese (25), 1 piece of flax seed bread (50) , some salsa (5) and some parmasean cheese (15) and a sugar free popsicle (10)- 320

la la la whined a lot this morning. blah blah blah im allowed to do what i want on my blog.  anyways, im over it, had a lovely day today etc etcccccccccc

Breakfast: 1/2 banana (55), 1 tofu dog (45) + ketchup (15), yogurt (30), 1 tbpsp flax (30), ½ cup of berries (30) , iced coffee with milk (25) -230

lunch: bread (100), vegan bologna (60) cheese (50), carrots (40), nectarine (70)-320

snack:rice cake (35) and pluot (40)-75

Snack: Popcorn (100)

Dinner: fries (220?), grilled cheese (340?)- 560

Bar: rum and diet coke ( 70?)

Total: 1355–>not bad, done.

la la. had fun tonight. went shopping. got another pair of 14 jeans! a  14 jean skirt, and some large shirts and another pair of size 14 pants. i think i need to stop buying some clothes for a while, since while im thrilled to be a 14, i want to be a
12 soon, sooo I need to stop buying 14 clothes.  note to self.

Wow what an incredible failure..(and what i learned)

So as you all know, (especially tiny2b because i freaking commented to her 50 time) I was planning on going on a jog this morning, and I was debating between 3-4 miles.  Well I got up, I ate my 1/2 banana, i put on my clothes, got my ipod together etc and was all ready.  Last night I had decided that I would do a 4 mile run cuz worst comes to worst, if I can jog all of it, I’d walk etc etc. so i was all ready, went outside and was all pumped, walked my first 5 min like tiny2b had suggested, and then when it came time to jog, i could jog literally no more than 30 seconds before i had to stop.  i tried again a few minutes later, and again failed at jogging. it was awful. i walked the rest of my way, and cut it short and basically walked about 3 miles. which im fine about. but now i wish i had just got up early and gone to the gym, so i could have felt more successful and energized this morning, and less like a total joke.

things i learned:

1) i dont/cant jog outside (at least i’ve got that desire out of my system)

2) i dont plan on doing an outdoor 5k anytime soon/ever. im sticking to my indoor running, where i can actually feel and be successful at being semi athletic.

ugh this morning was a bummer. at least i got in some walking, since i dont have time for the gym today. i just wish i had gone to the gym from the beginning and not tried to do this ridiculous outdoor thing.

Lovely thursday! big plans for a fri am run! we’ll see!

Snack: sugar free popsicle (10) and some leftover dumplings and brown rice (150)-160

Total: 1335–>little high..oh well.

so, no workout today because i stayed late to do extra work hours! the good news is! im done making up work hours! now im back to 8 hour days for my last three days of work! woohoo!

so, im contemplating/highly considering going to bed within the hour and getting up EARLY but with 7 hours of sleep, to do a 4mile loop on my campus tomorrow morning. i would just jog as much of it as i could and then walk the rest, and then it really shouldnt take more than 1 hour even with walking because i can easily
walk a 15 min mile. then i’d come back, shower and go to work. i’m kind of nervous but also excited. worst comes to worst, i cant jog it any longer, and I walk..right? or am i being too ambitious to run 4 miles outside when i havent even run 4 miles in the gym, and should i either just go to the gym tomorrow a.m. or find a run outside that is more like 3 miles which is what i’ve done?? help?

WooHoo! I’ve learned the Secret to Weight loss!

Weighed in this morning at 184.6! That’s 1.6 less than last week and I’m thrilled with that loss because if I could lose 1.5 lbs per week, that would be a great weight loss rate for me

So, I always think about people wanting to know the Secret to Weight Loss and um, I figured it out.  After reading my blogs, and all the amazing other chicks’ blogs on this site the secret is:

EAT LESS (and when you do eat, eat healthily) and EXERCISE MORE.
There were so many times in the past few years where I would try to look up supplements, or special 6 minute workouts, or special diets etc etc. And those never worked for me.  But now, I’ve truly realized, sure it’s hard, but eating less and exercising more, is the crazy secret!

Shhh don’t tell! (except you can tell everyone, and a lot of people are still going to ask about what diet you are on, or what magic supplement you take.  and when people ask what diet you are on you can say it’s the “healthy diet” and your weight loss supplement is called “motivation and determination”) Ha.!

Anyways, I wish I had clever titles. But I dont! Maybe once the school years starts and my days have a lot more of variety and craziness in them, the creative titles will start flowing. but not today. le sigh, no not today.

Food was pretty good, not great today.  BUT I did get to the gym and I completed day 2 of Week 8 of c25k–>BUT in reality I actually finished c25k because I ran for UM 31 minutes! (run of course meaning 4.5 and above, but i ended the last 5 min of running with 4.8 and above). so, now I think I’m kind of “done” with the c25k, and basically my goal from now on is to run (my running, not “Real running”) 3+ times a week for 30 min without stopping and hopefully soon, I will be able to pick up my pace, without dying, to more than 4.5 mph. i think i’m still going to do a couple more runs of 4.5 mph for 30 min, but then i definitely want to pick up the pace, gradually, SOON!  ADVICE:  How do I start picking up my pace while still running 30 min straight, without dying? THANKS.

So Today:

Breakfast:, 1 tofu dog (45) + ketchup (15), ¼ yogurt (30), 1 tbpsp flax (30), 1/2 banana (55)
¼ cup of berries (15) , ¼ cup of cereal (35)-total: 225

lunch: slice of cheese pizza (375) and 1.5 choc chip cookies (175)-550 (argh this was not the lunch I was excpecting a the lunch meeting. usually there is a burrito that is healthier. agh!)

snack:  pluot (40) and big piece of spinach bolani(50), skittles (50)-140 (ugh the skittles were a mistake!)

Dinner: Lean Cuisine (290) salad (110)- 400

Total: 1315–>done, nothing else today–>ugh 100 calories over. lame and before weigh in = hopefully not too bad.

Workout: 46 min on the treadmill, 3.1 miles 31 minutes of “running”. 10 minutes of abs and stretching.  day 2 of week 8 of c25k completed.

Almost thursday! WOOHOO! i have a lot of fun stuff planned this weekend, (along with packing up my apartment), but im really excited!

So Tired (but on Track!) tuesday

Wow today was ridiculously long. Last night, (monday night) I had to stay up finishing some stuff that I need to give someone today and I stayed up until 4am (gah!) finishing it.  I woke up at 9 to finish working on it, and ended up not getting into work until 11. I had planned on staying 3 extra hours after my normal workday because I am leaving this job (summer job) early because i’m going on vacay (WOOHOO!), so I stayed until 10pm. AGH needless to say im SO tired but i stayed entirely on track all day and I’m so proud of myself.  I didnt get to the gym because it closes at 10, but I am going to bed EARLY tonight (as in within 10 minutes) so that i can get a good nights sleep, get in to work early so i can stay and work another extra 3 hours tomorrow night and still make it to the gym by 8:30/9pm latest so that I can complete day 2 of week 8 of the c25k!

So my main goal tonight is to get in bed SOON so that I am rested for tomorrow’s LONG day of work, and the c25k!!


Food today:

Breakfast: 1 tofu dog (45) + ketchup (15), sf redbull-10, ¼ cup of yogurt (30), 1 tbpsp flax (30), 1/2 banana (55), ½ cup of berries (30) -215

Snack: home made cookie and a 1/2 from someone in the office (200) [how awesome am I? i knew they were baking the cookies and bringing me one, so i put it into my food plan the night before! GO ME!]

lunch: bread (100), vegan bologna (80), lf cheese (50), pluot (40), and carrots and snap peas (40) 310

Snack:  nectarine (70) and big piece of spinach bolani (65)-135

Dinner: Lean Cuisine (260) (i brought it to the office, i normally wouldnt eat this, OBVI haha)

Snack once i got home: Salad (120) HOW AWESOME AM I?! my snack was SALAD!

Total for the day: 1240–>DONE and off to bed!!

night all! i hope i have enough energy tomorrow after an 11 hour work day to run day 2 of the c25k successfully. i’m definitely going to attempt it, but if it doesnt work out (I HOPE IT DOES) i’ll try again on thursday.

Argh, never clever titles on Monday

Hi Chicks,

Well today was good and work was pretty good and fun. However, i did not like the number the scale showed me this a.m. (i only count the actual official weigh in day number), but the everyday weigh in helps me gauge how im doing, and I didnt like what it showed me, which basically just motivates me to stay more on track and workout harder.

So today:

Food so far:

Breakfast: 1 tofu dog (45) + ketchup (15), yogurt (60), 1 tbpsp flax (30), 1/2 banana (55), 1/4 cup of cereal (35), ½ cup of berries (30) -270

lunch: tortillas (120), cheese (75), pepperoni (40), salsa (10), spinach (10) -280, pluot (40), and carrots and snap peas (40)- 335

snack: some grapes (40) and some spinach bolani (45)-85

pre-gym snack
: 1/4 cup of cottage cheese (45) ¼ cup of berries (15)-60

Dinner: Turkey burger (100), ketchup (30) and large salad (150)-280

Snacks: 1 pack sbd oatmeal chocolate chip cookies (100), 1 good belly drink (50) and two raspberry licorice bites (24) -174

Total so far: 1204–>DONE!!!!!!!!! I stuck to my plan TO THE “T” Today and I’m really proud of myself. I hope it pays off!

Now i’m off to the gym! i’m pretty sore from my full workouts the last two days, so today is just going to be 45 min of cardio (1st day of week 8 of c25k!! AHHHHHHHH! i dont know if i can do 28 minutes, but I sure will try!) and 15 minutes of abs and stretching. I’ll be back later! tata!!!

Workout: DAY 1 of WEEK 8 of C25k COMPLETE +SOME! I ran for 29.5 minutes (ran meaning 4.5) but without stopping! I started at 4.7 for my first song, then lowered it down to 4.5 because I wanted to make sure I didnt burn out, and then I ended my last 3.5 minutes at 4.8! SO, including warm ups, warm downs and a little extra walking at the I did 46 minutes and 3 miles. then i did ten minutes of stretching and abs! So, the run was pretty hard but I did it. The first 10 minutes were easy. And then there were hard spurts throughout, but I never thought of stopping or slowing under 4.5 because then I knew I would have to restart day 1 tomorrow. YAY ME!

Umm, I am very confused by this new user interface etc. So confused. Am not impressed. Very difficult. Blah. However, there is one upside which is that with this new THEME I have my Updated Blogs column back from 3fc! the one thing that bugs me the most, is there is no little edit button on the actual page, so in order to edit my entries I have to come into the site Admin to do that, but that’s not a big deal as I’d rather have my updated blogs back! WOOHOO. home the new theme isnt tooo annoying :-) !

ANYWAYS! Today was the Farmer’s Market and I got some great Nectarines, Pluots, Raspberries, Blackberries and some Afghani Spinach bread (SOOO LOW CAL AND LOW CARB! IT’S SO GOOD!). Now I’m off to Whole Foods to get some other stuff that I need for the week, but I’m trying to get just a little bit of the necessities because I’m only going to be in this apartment for another week.

Then I’ll be off to the gym and then back to do some stuff in my apartment. Then out to dinner with a friend (which I dont really want to do), but I will. So i guess I just need to be very careful with what I eat tonight since I already had most of my cals this morning.

Today:

Brunch: Chicken Naan Wrap (700) and some fruit and other samples from the farmers market (100)-total 800

Dinner: Mango tofu (375?) and some brown rice (120)-495

Total so far: 1295

Gym workout: 46 min of elliptical 50 minutes of weights and abs! woohoo!
