Sunday on track! Loving this free weekend!
General July 27th, 2008today has been great so far! I went to the farmer’s market, picked up some strawberries, raspberries blackberries, plums and peaches. there’s also a great organic baker lady there, so i got 3 of her homemade protein bars which are huge and 240 calories per bar, so i split each bar into 2 days, and i also got two of her huge wholegrain blueberry muffins, which are 200 calories each, which i split into two days each, so I’m set on that front for the week. it was $18 for all those baked goods, but a small price to pay for protein bars that are totally natural and not processed and muffins without tons of sugar are cornsyrup etc etc. then i went to whole foods because the kombucha sale ends on the 29th, so i got 6 bottles of those, each one which lasts me two days, and then some salad fixings etc, and i got some of those yves vegan pepperonis which look promising since they are 16 pepperonis for 80 cals and full of protein. now, im off to my work to get a couple of extra hours in, then off to the gym and then back at home tonight to round out my lovely and on track weekend! starting week 6 c25k at the gym tonight! woohoo!
brunch: chicken naan wrap (700) and kombucha (30)-730

Dinner: 2 spelt corn tortillas (120), lf cheese (80), salsa (10), 8 yves pepperonis (40), mushrooms (10), and salad (120)- 380

Nice job getting back on track! I am home and catching up on everybody’s blogs… wish I had a couple of free days to do it, haha.

Nice haul at the farmer’s market, yum! To answer your questions in my blog: yes, I’m “fully” vegan, I went from vegetarian to vegan in April. I’m finding it very easy, alot easier than I thought it would be in fact. I haven’t had any soy or rice cheeze, just haven’t bothered to try any yet. I guess since I am trying to watch my weight I figured I could learn to live without any cheese-substitute and so far it just hasn’t been an issue. And I do use the nutritional yeast like I would parm and so far that seems to meet any of my former “cheese” needs.
Since I don’t bake, I haven’t even looked for any sort of egg substitute, but here is some info on the topic that might be helpful to you: http://www.vegansociety.com/food/catering_and_cookery/eggfree.php
The only dairy product I really needed to replace was skim milk, and Almond Breeze brand “almond milk” is SOOOO much better than skim milk ever was. Even my omnivore husband now uses Almond Breeze on his cereal. It’s just delish!

I got your comment with the 101 camping questions. Too funny! You come to Washington State and I’ll take you camping.
We have two acres on a river in pretty much the middle of nowhere. There’s a 1963 single-wide totally retro trailer with a queen bed in the bed room and a queen pull out in the living room, so it’s pretty comfortable sleeping-wise for a couple of people, but when we have lots of people camping out they all bring tents. There is a bathroom with a toilet, sink, shower and a kitchen with a fridge, oven, stove and microwave… roughing it!
How is your C25k going? I did two three-mile runs and man did the hills kick my ass! And these are real hills, not the little bumps in the road that I have been calling hills in my neighborhood!
