I know this is terrible, but Sailorboy has to be away for about 10 days and I am looking forward to it. I mean, I will miss him and all but I need to spend a lot of time at work right now and it is hard to manage that when I am ricocheting between his house, my house and his boat. I am feeling a bit pressured and I want to spend most of the weekend in the office getting organized and caught up on things. By the time he gets back I will feel much better, I think.
My shopping ‘jones’ kicked in last week and I bought 2 new pairs of very nice running shoes, although I have not been running regularly all summer. Here’s my rationale:
- if I have clean new shoes I can go to the gym’s indoor running track
- if I have clean new shoes I can use my old ones on the muddy fall trails without feeling bad about it
- I just want new shoes. Also they were on sale!

New shoes can be very motivating, and if they were on sale then you HAD to buy them
And don’t feel bad about looking forward to the break from Sailorboy. It’s not like you’re sick of him, it’s just that it will allow you to focus on a few other things while he’s gone. Plus, you can look ahead to the reunion.
Enjoy those shoes!!!

I love my husband.
I love living with my husband.
and, I admit, I love when my husband travels for a few days.
… I also love new shoes!
