File this under ‘can’t win for trying’…I am trying to save some money, in anticipation of dropping out of the rat race in a couple of years, and I set up an automatic monthly savings plan. Every 15th, a certain amount is supposed to move from my chequing to a locked-in savings plan. Sounds grown-up, right? Well, something somewhere got miscommunicated and the money moved June 1, then June 15, then July 2, and now I have $24 to make it through the next 2 weeks AND some bills coming due. Sigh. Can’t get it back, don’t know what is going to happen July 30…this is why I have such a hard time with banks.
