I feel, on balance, positive about the week. I did pay attention to food and drink, and I did log everything so I can see my stengths and weaknesses. I did some exercise although my energy faded as the week went on. But every sit up is ‘one to the good’, as my grandma used to say (although not about exercise, I am sure)

What did I learn?

  • I do not drink enough water.
  • If I drink wine I eat large amounts of cheese, so one or the other has to go.
  • One chocolate chip cookie can set of a cascade of cravings that spill into the next day.
  • Ditto high carb breakfasts - or should I say ditto the coffee shop breakfast bagel. It is huge and doughy and can trigger a day full of the same.
  • I can eat lots of vegetables and lots of fruit if I eat my meals in my home.
  • When I eat at work or in restaurants I seem to allow myself to be less conscious of what I am eating. However, I have become very conscious of serving sizes when eating out.

Overall I am giving this week 1 thumb up. Started out strong, faded as the days went by.  Today I am heading out again for more snowshoeing, cause I need the fresh air and open sky.  Also I found the nike ipod thingy and I am anxious to see just how much distance I cover on these winter hikes.

Onward and upward!

Knowledge is power so it’s a great idea that you took the time to learn things about yourself. Keep that fridge stocked w/fruits and veggies and get rid of those cookies…they’re evil.
