It’s a quiet Sat morning - Son #1 is 24 today (so that makes me….39….lol) and he is sleeping in to celebrate, dog is sprawled across the hall, cat is curled up on the chair, and I have a big cup of coffee in front of me. It is pouring rain, so I can’t do the yard chores. Nothing for it - I will just have to relax and enjoy the quiet.

I am sure the forced relaxation did you some good after what you have been through. Dining room set sounds gorgeous. It is nice to have something of your grandmother’s even if you didn’t really need it. When DH moved up here I had him bring his grandmother’s oak set. We didn’t need it, but it is really nice and I thought he should have some of his family’s stuff up here in TO. As for me, I wore an old broach of my grandmother’s on my wedding dress. Instead of a bow or rose on the sash, I opted for the pin. It wasn’t an expensive pin, but it was pretty. I kept it. Maybe I am getting old, but I like having something of past relatives in my life.
Take care

This relaxed me… just to read it. With very few words, you illustrated that quiet moment, and did it very well.
I read back a few entries… so sorry to hear of your Grandmother’s passing. Sending warm healing thoughts your way.
