Weigh in

June 11th, 2008

Had my weigh in this morning.  Down 1.4 pounds this week, for a total of 31.6 lost.  Made a pitstop at the Dollar Tree on my way home for some last day of school goodies for DD9 and bought a bag of cashew candy that looked really good.  Ate almost the whole bag in the car, which is 9 grams of fat per serving, 3.5 servings per bag.  So I am feeling like a complete loser right about now and have totally lost the good feeling I had post-weigh in.  I have actually even started to justify to myself that I should go ahead and finish the bag because it will be easier to know exactly how many calories/fat grams I had if I just polish it off.  I think I’ll go throw it in the trash now.

Weigh in…

Down .4 of a pound.  Not very significant, but I’ll take it, and even though it’s not much, two milestones come along with it.  One,  It puts me on the “other side” of 155, as in low 150s vs. high 150s.  And in my defense, my schedule last week was very messed up, so I had to weigh in on Friday instead of my usual Wednesday, so this .4 of a pound only reflects five days vs. a full week.  Maybe I’ll weigh myself Friday and get a one week total.

Secondly, Today’s .4, as little as it is, puts me at the 30 lb total loss mark.  Actually 30.2 pounds.  Feels like a milestone, and I like it.  My revised ultimate goal is 135 lbs.  Time to make that official and stop pretending that my original goal of 150 lbs, which is now 4.6 pounds away, is enough.  It’s not.  I’m still fat and 4.6 pounds is not going to make me feel “finished.”  But the good news is, I am 30.2 pounds less fat than I was before, and, man, does it feel good!

New ticker to reflect new goal and crappy Pacific Northwest weather we are having lately.

Weigh in …

May 31st, 2008

I had my weekly weigh in today.  After last week’s dismal showing, I am down 2.8 pounds.  HALLELUIAH.  I don’t think my almost two pound gain last week was legitimate, so I am going to just pretend that that last weigh in never happened and that the 2.8 loss is for the last two weeks.  I also had my 4-week measurements done and am only down 1.5 inches this month.  But my inches overall lost is something crazy like 25 or 26 inches, which rocks.  Five more pounds to reach my original goal.  I think my ultimate goal will be 20 more beyond that, for a total loss of 50 taking me down to 130 lb.

Weigh in

Down one whopping pound.  I had hoped for more.  But hoping for something and actually working hard to get something are two different things, I have been kind of lax on my food monitoring lately.  So down a pound is better than down 1/2 a pound, and a hell of a lot better than up a pound!

After my weigh in I had to go to the doctor’s office for a blood draw in preparation for my physical next week.  When I weigh in at Jenny Craig, it is on a digital scale, so I just step on and the numbers appear.  But at the doctor’s office, it’s the usual doctor’s office type scale, where they have to the big weight on 100 or 150 or 200 etc. and then the smaller weight up above slides to the 1-50 pound increments.

I weighed 156 on the doctor’s scale and realized, just 6.2 more pounds lost and the big weight will be on the 100 instead of the 150.  That realization made my day.  The simple things that bring me joy : )

Weigh in… blah

May 9th, 2008

Down half a pound for the week.  Not great.  Better than gaining.  Oh well, better luck next week.

I wish it were more, but I’ll take what I can get.  This was also my four week measurement day, and I am down another two inches for a total of 24 inches lost since November.  That’s two feet of me… gone!

Weigh in

April 23rd, 2008

Not too bad.  Down 1.8 pounds for a total of exactly 26 pounds lost since starting in November.  My ticker says 25.2 lb lost, so I must have entered the wrong starting weight.   Mystery solved, I started at 184.8 and entered it as 184.

Anyway, I can live with that… wish it was more but I haven’t exactly been giving it my all, either.  Next week is my monthly weigh AND measure, so I am going to try to stay on plan this week much more than I have been for the past three weeks.

It feels good to be home and getting back into my routine after a week away.  I came home last night and had a weigh-in this morning (how’s that for timing) and am up .4 of a pound.  In my mind, anything less than half a pound in either direction is a “hold”, so I maintained my weight while on vacation and totally off of my Jenny Craig plan, and I’m happy about that.  I was expecting a gain.  I did well food-wise while visiting my sister in Little Rock, but once we got to New Orleans it was a no holds barred food orgy and I loved every minute of it.  Thank God we were only there for two days and apparently no damage was done.

Now that I’m home, my goal is to lose 2 lb this week and get back into my exercise routine, which I did this morning (see my Couch to 5k progress page).

MY FOOD FOR TODAY:

Breakfast: JC french toast and berries

Snack: jC Peanut butter bar and bottle of water

Lunch:

Dinner:

Exercise: Couch to 5k week 4… 2.5 miles on the treadmill

Weigh in

March 26th, 2008

tapemeasure.jpgWah wah wah… down .2 of a pound today, which is really the same as staying put. I was hoping for another big 2+ pound loss, but that was really delusional considering the holiday weekend and Easter candy and birthday cake etc. Not to mention I probably ate six deviled eggs here and there etc. etc. etc. So I guess I should be glad I didn’t gain, but I’m not jumping for joy.

I did also have “measure in” as well as a weigh in and I’m down 4.5 inches this month, for an overall loss of 21.5 inches in 20 weeks, which is exciting. I’ll try to focus on that!

Halleluiah. I was really disappointed with my .4 gain last week, so I was very happy to see the 2.4 this week. In reviewing my food log, I did a lot less snacking and munching, and it obviously paid off. I would love to see this loss every week. Of course, I won’t get there eating like I did tonight, but every now and then I must give in to the fast food urge. The fact that I can do it once every two weeks as opposed to four times a week is a step in the right direction.
