Food, Exercise and Life… 7/12
July 12th, 2008
Breakfast: Fat free yogurt, bottle of water
Snack: JC tomato soup
Lunch: JC chicken sandwich, big-ass garden salad w/ fat free dressing, lite on the garganzola cheese and the croutons this time, but did have a handful of almonds in there, can of diet coke
Dinner: JC pot stickers, handful of pea pods, JC cheese cake, can of diet coke
Exercise: Went to a tap dance class with a friend. Fun! My mother had my sister and I in dance class from kindergarten through high school, so I was a little rusty but knew enough of the basics to be able to jump in at the intermediate level. It was a blast and I worked up more of a sweat than I did at the pole dancing class. I think I’ll be back to this one again.
UPDATE: Did my upper body workout but am bailing on drinking another bottle of water because I am going to bed and don’t want to be peeing all night.
DD9 had a friend spend the night last night, who decided in the middle of the night that she wanted to go home, which is a big no no at my house. Sorry. Tough Love. I give them the option when it’s time to put pajamas on, at about 9 or 9:30, if you don’t want to spend the night, speak now or you’re here until morning. She decided to stay. At 10:30 she was calling her mom leaving panic attack messages about being gravely ill and needing to go home. Her mom called back and I said either come and get her RIGHT NOW or don’t call back and she’ll get over it. Sounds harsh, but I was irrate and tired and this kid’s mom (kid is 10 years old) is telling me “If you just lay down with her for a little while, she’ll fall right to sleep,” as I’m hearing the bar sounds and music in the background. Um, no. I don’t lay down with my own child to put her to sleep at night, jeez. Of course, every one went to bed, and every one woke up happy as clams, so it’s all over now! But after that phone call, I guess the mom did something wrong with her phone and accidentally “pocket dialed” me three more times during the night… 11:30, midnight and 1 am. URGH! Phone rings and I’m saying “Hello, hello, hello” and hearing nothing but loud music and laughing and rustling purse sounds. ANNOYING!!
Anyway, now DD9 has gone to a friend’s house to play today and I have got to put the pedal to the metal and get these transcripts for work out of here this weekend. I need to do as much as I can today because I promised DD9 and another friend that I’d go on a “long” bike ride to the farmer’s market with them tomorrow (long being 3 miles round trip). Cross your fingers that it won’t be 100 degrees out!
Food 7/11
July 11th, 2008
It’s official, I am batshit crazy and out of control.
Breakfast: JC pancakes, bottle of water
Lunch: Burgerville kids meal: small cheeseburger, small fries, diet coke
Dinner: Popeye’s fried chicken: one breast and wing, a biscuit, coleslaw, diet coke
Exercise: none, but I am going to the gym in two hours to take DD9 and a friend to the pool and I will hit the treadmill while they play
UPDATE: Went to the gym, ran 4 miles on the treadmill, then walked about five minutes to cool down, then played in the pool with DD9 for about half an hour.
SNACK: garden salad, which sounds good in theory, but in reality I loaded it with garganzola cheese, croutons and almonds, but I did use fat free dressing if that helps
The fried chicken was so greasy and disgusting that the grease actually seeped THROUGH the cardboard box and ruined the shirt I was wearing. And I am putting this shit into my body.
PLAN: DH is going camping for the weekend, I will be chained to my desk for work. I will not ingest anything other than Jenny Craig meals and fresh fruits and veggies on Saturday and Sunday. Period. The End. Will. Not. Eat. Shit. I swear.

July 10th, 2008
Another insane day of working then chauffering kids. Yesterday I was in my car from 12:45 to 3:30, doing nothing but driving kids to where they needed to be. It was insane. And with the price of gas…. jeez, don’t get me started.
Breakfast: JC oatmeal, bottle of water
Lunch: JC wedding soup, handful of almonds, diet coke
Dinner: road my bike to a little neighborhood restaurant and met two girlfriends for appetizers and drinks. So I had: 1/3 bottle of Prosecco, 1/3 of an antipasto platter, 1/3 of a cheese platter and one chocolate truffle.
Exercise: Road my bike, maybe 1/4 mile each way TOPS, not a very long ride, though I did “power through” the hill on the way home without having to stop and push my bike! Rode my bike while wearing a skirt… so had to exert extra effort not to flash the neighborhood, that should count for a few extra calories burned!
UPDATE: Did my 100 crunches, four sets of 25, with short sets of upper body “misc. stuff” between sets
Food today 7/9
July 9th, 2008
Breakfast: peanut butter bar, yogurt, bottle of water
Lunch: about 1/2 of a salad from McD’s, though of course I did eat the entire FRIED chicken breast that was mistakenly placed on top of my salad (I ordered grilled, but whatever). Small diet coke
Dinner: JC lentils and beef and a can of diet coke, TWO (not one but two) Weight Watcher ice cream bars.
Snack: bottle of water, handful of almonds
Exercise: jogged 2 miles this morning with DH. That’s it so far, hoping to get my upper body and crunches done later today. UPDATE: I did 100 crunches and 60 chest presses (combo set of 25 crunches, then 15 chest presses, repeat, repeat, repeat). UPDATE 2: Went to the pool and did a deep water cardio class. Fun!
