Food 8/6

August 6th, 2008

BREAKFAST: JC muffin, JC vitamin bar, bottle of water

LUNCH: JC chicken sandwich, diet coke, handful of goldfish (the crackers, not the critters)

DINNER: JC lasagna, diet coke, JC cake

SNACK: JC lemon cake and a bottle of water

SUCCESS: stayed on plan all day, no snacking, no crap eating

EXERCISE: Ya’ll are going to L O V E this.  DD9 and I were riding our bikes to her violin lesson, which is 2.75 miles from home.  Got almost there, had ridden 2 miles, and realized we FORGOT THE VIOLIN.  Pedaled our booties home double time 2 more miles, grabbed the violin and drove back to the lesson, 10 minutes later, hee hee.  So we didn’t officially ride our bikes to violin, but we did get in a 4 mile ride.  Sad thing is, I would have made it all the way there without realizing we forgot her violin and music if she hadn’t remembered it.

UPDATE: Ran 4 miles, 50 minutes

 I still have hopes of getting a run in today, and, miracle of all miracles, it is 4 pm and I am still on plan with food.

I am not EVEN going to recount my vacation food (see oyster photo on sonotzen.com for an idea of how bad it was!)  But I am going to start back up with tracking tody.  I have a weigh in tomorrow that I am 99% sure to cancel.

Breakfast: two toast points with last nights leftover artichoke crab dip, 2 forkfuls of last night’s leftover chocolate cake, bottle of water

Lunch: salad at Quiznos with a little bit of chicken on it (and I mean a little!) and some flat bread, a diet coke

Dinner: turkey burger, 1/2 a small order of fries, diet coke

Exercise: nil!

Hello, August!

GOALS FOR THE MONTH:  Run five miles, in a row, without dying.  Be able to do it more than one fluke time.  Run a whole 5k at 5.0 miles per hour or better.

Breakfast: fat free lemon yogurt, JC banana nut muffin, bottle of water x 2

Lunch: JC chicken sandwich, JC cheese curls, can of diet coke

Dinner: 1 Mirror Pond beer, 1/2 an order of artichoke/spinache dip, one happy hour sized ceaser salad (served on a saucer, no joke), two goat cheese balls crusted in polenta, deep fried and drizzled with honey… oooh la la.  Came home and had a JC brownie

Snack: popcorn at movie and a diet coke

Exercise: Ran 4.7 miles… one full hour!  Rock on.

Food 7/31

Breakfast: JC french toast

Lunch: JC pasta fagioli, diet coke.  Looking good as far as staying on plan all day.

Snack: 1/2 of a small side order of teriyaki chicken (literally about three mouthfuls)

Dinner: garden salad, JC pesto pizza, diet coke, 1/3 of a chocolate chip cookie

Exercise: GOAL is to do a DVD or at least my upper body and abs at home.  No gym or running today, I MUST get my work done before our mini vacay on Sunday

UPDATE: I’m going to do my upper body and abs RIGHT NOW.  I swear I am.  Don’t bother checking up on me to see if I actually do it.  Because I sweared and everything.

UPDATE:  Okay… wah wah wah… did my workout… wah wah wah.  Did allof my upper body, plus 120 crunches, plus 20 pushups, but the girlie kind on my knees.

Food 7/30

Breakfast: JC peanut butter vitamin bar, bottle of water, 1/2 a small vanilla yogurt (fat free)

Lunch: JC wedding soup, 1/2 a whole wheat bagle w/ low fat cream cheese, can of diet coke.  Also did very minimal munching from DH’s lunch leftover from yesterday which was fajitas.  I had two slivers of beef and two slivers of chicken.  And then I put it back in the fridge.  Rock on, me.

Snack: JC cheese curls

Dinner: uh-oh.  Just a phone call… it’s customer appreciation night at my favorite local shoppe… a crepe shoppe!  Crepes and wine for dinner, but I’ll ride my bike there and bike so that counts for something, right (but it is less than 1/4 mile away).  I could say no, but DD9 was the one who answered the phone and now she’s all hopped up about free crepes… what’s a girl to do?

UPDATE: I had 1/3 of a banana nutella crepe, 1/4 of a chilli cheese dog, three or four swallows of a strawberry banana smoothie and an IPA beer.  Life is good.

Exercise: Ran 2.5 miles (31 minutes 08 seconds) and did my upper body routine plus 100 crunches.  Road my bike to and from dinner.

GOAL: Be 100% on plan for three days in a row, Weds - Friday.

UPDATE: Didn’t quite make the food plan goal, but didn’t stray too far afield either.

Food 7/29

Breakfast: 1/2 an English muffin with jam

Lunch: JC turkey burger, cup of JC fat free chicken broth and a diet coke — I had to work today through lunch, a weirdly scheduled job from 11 - 1.  I ate my 1/2 muffin at 7:30 am, then I ate my lunch at 10:30 am because I didn’t want my tummy rumbling during the deposition.  Now it’s 1 pm and I’m STARVING and not sure what exactly to do.  I think I will try to hold out until 2 pm and go get a free smoothie.

Snack: Had the s-bucks smoothie, 270 cal, 5 g fat.  Not bad.  And a handful of almonds.

More: handful of peanut M&M’s… nice.

Dinner: JC turkey dinner, some watermelon, diet coke, bottle of wate.  I skipped dessert because of the M&M’s.  Never got around to any exercise of any sort.

Exercise: GOAL: upper body and abs, then a bike ride or a walk with DH tonight, but I’m not going to run today

Food and such, 7/28

Ugh! I am up 2 pounds on my “unofficial” scale at home.  I have two days to at least get back to where I was pre-camping before my JC weigh in, or else I’ll have gained and that is NOT ACCEPTABLE!  At JC I have a little chart with my weight on a bar graph with colored lines and to have one of them going in the WRONG DIRECTION will freak me out.  So now I must not eat.

Well, I’ll eat a little bit, but only good stuff.  Which actually sounds quite easy to do because I ate so much CRAP on the camping trip that none of it appeals to me right now.

Breakfast: JC cereal, can of diet coke

Lunch: Food plan?  What food plan?  I got hungry at 12:20 and like a little miracle my phone rang at 12:21.  Guess what?  There’s a new cajun restaurant in town, open for lunch!  By 12:45 we were there.  I had a WHOLE shrimp poboy (when half would have been fine, believe me), a few bites of gumbo, 1/2 a small order of red beans and rice and 1/2 a small order of bread pudding with sauce.  And a diet coke, must not forget the diet coke.  NEW PLAN FOR THE DAY:  Eat a salad for dinner and go for a long ass run.

Dinner:  Salad: romaine lettuce, croutons, a sprinkle of parmesan, handful of almonds, 1/2 a grilled chicken breast and fat-free vinagrette. 

Exercise: GOAL: too late for a morning run, so maybe I’ll hit the tready this afternoon. 

New Blog and Food 7/24

 Nothing there yet except random cell phone photos as I am experimenting with mobile blogging, which, OMG, how addicting is that.

So… food for today, not looking so hot so far, but I have been gone all day which doesn’t help.

Breakfast: 1/2 a bagel with homemade jam

Lunch: “New Orleans Flat Iron Steak Salad.”  Doesn’t that sound good?  Well… PSYCHE!  It was a piece of chewy overcooked steak covered in bottled “buffalo” sauce (which is so NOT New Orleans, thank you very much) served on a bed of iceburg lettuce, just the white part (yum-NOT) and a couple of cherry tomatos that I swear smelled like salmonella.  Thanks, Sheri’s Restaurant!

Dinner: JC potstickers and lemon cake, a diet coke

Snack: three homemade pot stickers (so not jenny craig and totally yum), some melon, two cookies, diet coke (went to a recital w/ reception following)

Exercise: nothing yet, and this is supposed to be a run day, but I just don’t know if it’s going to happen.  DH is already gone camping and I need to finish up work so I can leave tomorrow to join him.  I’ll be taking DD9 and two of her girl scout friends.  So does that count as exercise… an exercise in keeping my sanity! ha

UPDATE: Did not exercise at all.  It’s quarter til 10 and I am just getting home and am going to get back to work on my transcript.  Going girl scout camping tomorrow… am bound and determined to get up and run in the morning before the day gets away from me.  Also need to can cherries tomorrow because they’ll be wasted if I don’t.  Wah, too much to do.

Food 7/23

Breakfast: skipped it, had a fasting blood draw this morning.  Did have a bottle of water

Lunch: JC turkey burger, small garden salad, bag of JC cheetos, can of diet coke

Dinner: small piece of salmon, 1/2 a sweet potato, small scoop of leftover potato salad and a sliced tomato

Dessert: 1/2 a bagel with homemade jam

Exercise: Biked to and from DD9’s violin lesson (2.53 miles each way), also biked around the park for 45 minutes, but no idea of distance.  Using our “road” time to violin, I would estimate we biked 3+ miles at the park.  I’m still feeling Monday’s upper body work out and ab work, so I guess it’s time to do it again.  Hopefully I can get that done tonight.

Breakfast: yogurt and JC granola, bottle of water

Lunch: bag of vending machine pretzels (only 1 g of fat), carrots with fat free ranch dip

Dinner: JC chicken, potatoes and broccoli; a green salad; diet coke

Exercise: biked about a mile, to the pool and back and the post office.  Going to the gym with DH tonight.  Goal is 4.25 miles and secondary goal is accomplish it in not more than an hour.
