weight 151.2… next up, I’ll be writing my diet book, “The Fried Chicken and Chocolate Cake Diet.”

breakfast: 1 slice of toast with peanut butter and coffee
lunch/dinner: tba
LUNCH UPDATE: had a ham/pear/brie crepe before movie
SNACK: 1/3 of a medium popcorn, no butter
DINNER: had a big salad followed by copious amounts of chocolate covered pretzels.
EXERCISE: nada

challenge of the day: will be going to a movie with DD10 and will try not to devour large popcorn plus candy plus nachos while I am there

exercise: Did not run, had pressing things to do involving laying on my ass and reading blogs. oh, and facebook’ing. Can’t forget that. Of course now it is time to start the day, so no run is in my future since it is getting up to 95 friggin’ degrees today and I am not going out in that. Maybe I’ll “shred” this afternoon?

MARATHON DECISION: Ok, so I have firmly decided not to train for the full marathon on October 4. And there is no half-marathon being run in conjunction with it. But there is a local half-mary the last weekend in October, so I am going to train for that. I am going to take the schedule from my running group that went from Week 1 to the half-mary, 10 weeks total, and just reuse it. In order to be on track with that, I need to start week 1 on August 23. Which means I am on a “running vacation” from now until August 23! Holla!

My summer running plan: Run 2-3 days during the week, three mile minimum. Do the group runs on Sunday, which will be one hour only. We’ll be picking a direction, and then running 30 minutes out/30 minutes back, then joining the full marathon group for the seminars etc.

This gives me a nice couple of weeks, now thru August 23, to feel less pressured to stay on schedule with the running and get my household in order for selling/moving or whatever we end up doing. So I am happy with the plan. And I have a friend who wants to do the same thing, so I have someone to do the accountability dance with.

Ugh, we had the heat last week so it’s totally understandable that you don’t want to get out and do anything.

The running plan sounds like it’s a good one, giving you the break you need w/o completely stopping. And the fact that your friend is doing it too will really provide some motivation.
