Thankful Me
It’s after 8 and it’s already 45 degrees. It’s going to get over 50 today. What I have planned is this
- Shower
- Micro Center w/ The Mum
- Make Runzas
- Kiss my Sweetie the second he walks in the door.
He stayed home either last weekend or the weekend before, but otherwise he’s still gone each weekend. I’m next to dying. Sigh. I requested that he work every other weekend now. It’s so old.
Life. Thank God for my Mum. She bought us some staple groceries last night (including chocolate Cherry Cordial Kisses-HAH!). She came over to make cookies with me. We made date filled wraps. And then she made veggie lasagna, …and then bought us groceries! Cheese, milk, eggs, tuna. That sort of stuff. She also evened out my haircut-1/4” on the right side—I did a great job! LOL
I worked job2, and was paid, but that money was rationed out for Christmas gifts (yes, I am going to try to buy a couple of gifts this year). So Mum is a blessing x2! Actually, money is so tight that my ‘recovering’ Sweetie chose to drink last weekend. He had two beers and decided against what he was doing and stopped. I played the role of the loving supportive wife. I don’t foresee his “condition” getting worse as he has been working hard towards “full” recovery since 2004. My coping skills are developing right along side his! We’re two peas in a pod that way. Both pushin’ forward, trying to stay humble, and thanking God for good living. It can be hard when little money is coming in. Here’s a mini story that comes to mind.
Friday Sweetie called me at 8:30 am from work to tell me that most guys at his work were laid off that morning. He said “I thanked the Boss for not laying me off and he [boss] said ‘You’re the best, I can’t.’” I’m thankful that Sweetie has his job too! Thank God we have work. I can’t believe that we have a roof over our heads and food on the table during this economy. Good is coming from this, however. I’m learning to apply skills to maintain in ways that I wouldn’t have to otherwise.
Okay, food talk. Since we haven’t much in the house, I’ve been eating sugar foods and apples and sugar. Lol. I went up a couple pounds. I didn’t feel like doing the treadmill or bike two days in a row. How surprising.
Today, is left over veggie lasagna for lunch with the Mum after Micro Center. Runzas for dinner. I think I have some canned peaches or pears. Maybe I’ll look up how to make a cobbler and invent mini cobblers for my Pyrex custard bowls for dessert. That would be cute! We have oats, so I’m set there…and butter thanks to Mum! Breakfast is after I finish up here—Cheerios and almond milk. It’s so weird trying to diet with little food in the house. I have to think ahead even more now, and think about stretching whatever it is for two. Okay, I should get going right along here. You know, I’m so thankful that I have a laptop to work on since my desktop monitor is burned out. It runs very slow, but I’m glad I have it. I’m glad I have a place to go to drop thoughts off to move a little lighter through life. This Thanksgiving, I will be overwhelmed with things to be thankful for.
ThankfulMe signing off.

Sweetie just sent me a text at 9:44 am - HE GOT A DEER! We have FOOOOOD!!!!!
Congrats to dh on the deer!!
Food is good! That was really nice of your mum to buy groceries - and it’s good that hubby got the deer. Have you thought about selling things you make? Or doing like alterations , hemming, stuff like that for people for profit? From what I’ve seen of your stuff, it’s all very nice! I’m sure you could sell it. Also - what about making Christmas presents? That would be less money spent.
