27 Degrees, WOW!

It’s 27 degrees this morning and frost on the vehicles without a doubt. ;) I’ve been having fun reading blogs this morning. I told Mumsy to come over (for more baking) at 10:00 am so I could have some extra time doing that. It’s important to me.

I’m excited to report on yesterday. Despite the fact that I am still battling the Candida, I worked hard in the yard and in the house. I have been on the edge of not having any energy but I pushed forward. I had the idea to refill bird feeders and squirrel plate. So after I did that, I kept puttering. It was early in the AM so the wind hadn’t picked up and the neighborhood was silent. I love working in the yard under those conditions. I took down all the tomato plant supports and the garden fencing. I dug out the old plants and put them in the compost pile. The grass had grown very long around the bottom of the fence, so I took the mower to it. (Yes, even in the quiet AM. Lol—it was only a second.) I noticed the rake in the garage as I walked through and decided to rake. I got the entire backyard cleaned up for winter. I just need to put some plastic over the chimnea and then we’re set!

So inside, I cleaned the kitchen and vacuumed the house. Then I puttered around and picked up perfectly, so it appeared that I lived in heaven even if it was just for a day. HAH!

After that, I showered and went off to work—both jobs. Came home late and made spaghetti for dinner. King Edward was like a bitter old man—just cranky. The man needed food. Well I still had my boxing gloves on from being in the workforce, so I got to making dinner pronto. Fed the Sweetie and myself, and then went to bed (was too late to eat a dessert). :) I didn’t over eat at all during the day and I felt great. Two days in a row! I did have 3 sweets before work, however. But I didn’t over eat. I have to turn that into a chant so I don’t beat myself up over the sweets. I got some mild exercise in out in the yard, and didn’t over eat.

So today is a little baking and hopefully some shopping. No work—I took today off of both jobs to spend it with the Mum. I hate when we get involved in projects and then have to leave for work. I want to throw myself in and never come out. :D Okay, I’m going to close and shower to get ready for the fun day I have planned. RelaxedMe signing off.

  1. Relaxed you is good :) Yes, I think all men get cranky when they need to eat. I’m surprised my husband doesn’t start stomping his feet an crying sometimes when his blood sugar is too low.

Your squares are adorable! Are you adding any other colors, or sticking to one? I like the color you’re using so I think it will be adorbale either way. :)

  2. Wow that is some cold temps - i would freeze

you talking about Ed reminded me of myself with my husband - men I swear they are all the same

    enjoy your day!

  3. We have one more super leaf clean up to do I think. The oaks still have some leaves…those darn oaks…they take forever to drop their leaves, and they are soooo messy. Sometimes I wonder if the shade is worth it? LOL I have to get to the beds as well, but unlike previous years, I refuse to clean them three or four times, just to wake to another bed full of oak leaves!!! So this year, I am waiting and doing it once, and hoping to beat the snow! :)

have fun making those amazing baked treats!!!!

  4. Oh, now that your yard is done, can you come down and do mine?? Still have all that to do.

Re the dye - yes, I bought Rit, the liquid in the bottle. All dyes were 25% off at Joanne’s. We received white bedsheets as a gift a few years back, but now they’re dingey (sp?). I will never buy white sheets or towels!

Yeh, Trader Joe’s seems to have pretty good prices on things, and you see different kinds of products than at a regular market.

Bf got the hint! Not last night, but it’ll be ready tonight. Ours will have potatoes, onions, carrots, and mushrooms.

Enjoy baking w/ mumsy, part 2!! Don’t forget the photos!
