Lonely Sunday

It’s 37 degrees at 7:30 am. I have “Sewing With Nancy” playing on the TV in the background. It’s quilting—how boring. It looks crisp and cold outside. Frost is on my car.

The rest of my Sunday consisted of sitting in one spot on the couch, 10th Kingdom, and crocheting 9 squares for the gingham afghan. Food consisted of yogurt & graham crackers, water, tea, 1 slice of left over Hawaiian pizza, and several Hazelnut Butter Balls (which don’t contain a drop of butter), a little ground beef, a couple potato chips, a bite of Ed’s egg, and a couple more sugary treats that I made with The Mumsy. Do you know how happy I was that I didn’t over eat ONCE!? I felt like a queen. I love and hate to gorge. (Bob Ross is on now.) I love the feeling of putting food in my mouth, chewing and swallowing, but hate the overfull feeling in the end. So, I didn’t over eat yesterday, just made some poorer choices with the candies. I’m okay with that.

So Ed has been going away each weekend to work on his friends farm—well, siding his farm-house. Another fellow has been commissioned to help, so Ed’s not doing it alone. I’m beginning to dread the upcoming weekends now knowing that my Sweetie will be gone (this was his 5th weekend). I’m learning that I have zero energy when he goes away. In the beginning, it was fine because I had stuff to do, but now it’s old and I miss him. I’m trying to come up with stuff to do when he goes to keep myself busy. That’s no good. I’d like to do projects because I want to do the project. Sigh. I had a little anger when he came home, but I fought it off and was lovey towards him. It’s interesting how I respond like a child emotionally. Good thing I’m highly self-analytical and can behave appropriately. Ooo, that could be a mess. LOL.

Last night Ed left the gate open when he brought in the cooler of beef from his truck and the dogs got out. They had free run of the neighborhood. When I called and whistled for them, they came running home like a couple wild horses. It was good that we didn’t have to take the car out to get them. We gave them treats for coming home. Lol

Today I work both jobs, so it will be a late night. Tomorrow is another bake-day with the Mumsy. I have laundry to do and just do not feel like doing it. Sigh. If I want clean clothes, I must. I need to go make some bread and feed the birds and squirrels, so I will close this and begin my Monday. Tawnya signing off.

  1. Ooo! I want to see pictures of the afghan squares! I’m working on a very soft one - just regular granny squares. It’s really expensive yarn though, so I don’t know when I’ll finish it.

  2. The candies and sweets are beautiful! Check out the site the joy of baking–awesome things to make there and wonderfully delicious and they have a special Christmas baking section. I’ve got to get my camera so I can post pictures of my chair and could have (but it’s gone now) posted one of my apple tart. I’m off to do some laundry too and I’m just not feeling it either!

  3. I saw a sewing w/ Nancy about quilting the morning after we visited the quilt museum, so I found that show interesting right then. But Nancy herself is not the most dynamic tv host…

Good your dogs came when called. It’s scary when they’re out running around wild. Our doggy was confused re the time change - his tummy started telling him it was dinner time at 4:30, but he was an hour early because of the change. Poor thing, we fed him a little bit early, LOL.

I haven’t decided what I’m baking yet. I like those crescent-shaped almond cookies w/ powdered sugar on top, so probably those, but not sure of anything else. Maybe I’ll check out the site Mel mentioned. Nice that they’ll stay fresh in the freezer.
