Christmas Baking & Cooking

Wow. Daylight Savings this morning. I got an extra hour of sleep. How nice since I’ve not been able to get up at a decent hour. :)

Cooking and baking craze yesterday. I did well during the entire expedition. I only nibbled, no gorging. I will admit that I ate 4 Hazelnut Butter Balls, however. They were tiny and hopefully not too detrimental. I have a super ache in my left foot. I don’t know if it’s from being on my feet without my arch supports most of the day, or what. I feel refreshed and tired at the same time. Mumsy was at my place at 8:45 am, and didn’t leave until after 9, I think. It was a long day. Before she left, we planned out our agenda for Tuesday’s baking.

All right, since it’s Sunday I’m not going to write long. I did make sure I took photos to post here of the cookies we made. That’s really what I wanted to do on 3FC today. To begin, here’s the list of cookies and candy we started with.

Snowballs

Meixcan Hot Chocolate Balls

Haystacks

Toffee Bars

Hazelnut Butter Balls

Cream Cheese Mints

Stamp Cookies—which turned out poorly, so we will attempt it with a different cookie recipe. Nothing to post on this one. LOL

We plan on making these next Tuesday: Eggnog Bars (to eat), Date Filled Wraps, Chai-Spiced Almond Cookies, Caramels, Glazed Eggnog Spritz (to freeze), Lemon-Thyme Shortbread, and Baked Hazelnut Truffles. These are all new recipes for us this year. We usually stick to the tried-and-true Christmas cookie classics, but we wanted to try new and exciting this year. LOL We still have time to make the classics.

Okay, I’m off to begin my Sunday.
